#BeAgile;Daily Stand Ups in Scrum

It's Monday, bringing back everyone on track is inevitable, holding a daily stand up surely does the job!

The scrum daily stand-ups provide a platform for team members to discuss their progress, align on goals, identify potential blockers, and plan their activities for the day.

It takes 15 minutes to quickly align and get back to the work.

Participants include the scrum Master and the development team.

Product Owners may also attend to observe the progress and provide clarification when necessary.

However, their participation is limited to listening and not actively engaging in the meeting.

The magical three questions that bring everyone together are:-

  1. What did you accomplish yesterday?
  2. What are you planning to do today?
  3. Are there any impediments or blockers in your way?

The daily stand up remain alive by

  • Starting the meeting on time and
  • Adhering to the time-boxed duration.
  • Encouraging team members to speak directly to the three key questions.
  • Discouraging discussions or problem-solving during the stand-up (Those can be addressed separately).
  • Maintaining a standing posture to keep the energy high.
  • Maintaining a concise meeting like this article.

Finally, everyone is on track ready to start the day!
