Beethoven In Your Neighborhood
As part of its 125th anniversary this year, the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra recently started its Beethoven In Your Neighborhood Library Project. The Pittsburgh Symphony invites the community to join them on an exploration of both Pittsburgh and the musical genius of Beethoven. For the first time in Pittsburgh history, the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Music Director Manfred Honeck, will perform all nine Beethoven symphonies in one week at exceptional locations, and will perform all 16 Beethoven string quartets in a groundbreaking collaboration with libraries throughout the region. All but one of the concerts will be free to the public.
