Behind the scenes of our latest free challenge
How do you feel about sales?
If your gut reaction is one of hesitation or even dread, you’re not alone.
But let me ask you this: Do you love building relationships and connections?
Do you enjoy chatting with people about their passions and ambitions?
I’m guessing the answer is YES and you might be surprised to discover you already possess the fundamentals of sales.
We just need to reframe what sales can mean.
Recently, the Thriving Woman Gang, along with some other incredible ladies in our community, took part in a free Business Development Sprint challenge. The results were incredible.
For many business owners, sales is really scary and the notion of business development can seem intimidating.
A boss of mine once told me I was terrible at sales and it was a story I carried with me…until I decided to rewrite it.
In the early days, I struggled to understand what my potential clients were saying, missing the cues that they wanted to buy. Fast forward to now, I spend my time coaching women who need a shift in mindset. Women who fear appearing too pushy or don’t see themselves as salespeople find out that sales can be empowering and liberating.
The Birth of the Business Development Sprint
For seven years, I dedicated an hour each day to business development and it has consistently paid off.
This turned into the Thriving Woman Gang's brilliant initiative: an hour of power each day for a month.

This simple act of consistent effort sparked amazing results, inspiring me to extend the opportunity to a broader audience through our Business Development Sprint challenge!
Using Instagram and collaboration with my friend Nikki from Cinch Training, we shared our vision live. Our goal was simple: Assemble a community of women to support each other in business development, smashing the myth that sales is scary.
The Power of Community
By the end of our initiative, we welcomed 57 women into our free challenge. The results? Astonishing! Let’s dive into the numbers so you can see for yourself how one hour a day of business development pays off.
The courage to push through our fears and embrace sales with enthusiasm has a magnetic effect. As we plan to offer this challenge three times next year, I invite you to reframe your approach to business development.
When you focus on building relationships, sales becomes an exciting conversation, not a daunting transaction.
If you feel a pull towards shaking up your business development strategy, keep an eye out for our next challenge in February 2025. In the meantime, start reaching out, engage with others on LinkedIn and Instagram and remember: sales doesn’t have to be scary! It can be as simple as a conversation.

2wThis challenge was such an eye-opener for me, Emma McQueen (GAICD). I didn't realise just how easy it was for me to become so caught up in my client work (because i love it so much), that any form of BD (business development) was put on the back burner. Turns out, I enjoy BD far more than I realised, so I have now incorporated a lovely balance between client work and delivery, and BD - thanks to you!

2wThank you Emma McQueen (GAICD) for your BD Sprint vision which for me has been an absolute game changer. I have remained committed to spending 1 hour a day on BD and the connections and conversations I have had are seeing positive results. 👏
