The Benefits of an External Facilitator / an alternative way to approach training & development.
I wanted to share with you some of the benefits of engaging us as external facilitators. Why? Because many who would greatly benefit from this option don't even consider it. Even less build in into their learning and development programmes!
Of course, as a leader/manager, you can run the session yourself, right? Some draw a distinct line between training and development, some of which they outsource (this might include: Leadership development, Soft skills, Management training, Communications etc) and internal 'problem solving/solution finding' sessions like Strategy days, Ideation Brainstorms, A new initiative or project workshop.
Consider two possibilities:
The reasons to invite us to help you lead a facilitated session, workshop or away days for you are numerous, most often they will fall into one of three categories:
1) Collaborating on a live issue or future opportunity together as a team. Examples include:
2) To develop the team and their ability to work well together. Common areas would be:
For brevity, I've not included an exhaustive list above. It's worth mentioning that we always take the time to understand your situation, needs and objectives before recommending an approach and or designing a bespoke workshop, day or programme for you.
What is number 3? - It's simply combining the two. I say simply it takes a lot of careful consideration, planning and flexibility in delivery. Our unique combination of skills and access to years of proven methods comes into its own. Our founder James draws on experience from his corporate days in Innovation leading multi-agency initiatives, his experience as a Business Coach and his focus know bringing practical tools and techniques to unlock the full potential of people. The clients who put their trust in us don't regret it, in fact, quite the opposite:
I contacted James initially to help us complete some DISC profiling work for our annual team event. He listened to our goals and some of the challenges we were trying to overcome and our discussion quickly grew into how James could join the event and help take our team to the next level by understanding our different styles of learning and communicating through practical exercises. James led a 2-day workshop for us with great energy, he kept the team focused and used relatable examples to highlight why we approach situations in different ways and how to get the best out of each other to become a high-performance team. James created a safe space and kept the content of our event upbeat, engaging and enjoyable, checking in with the leadership team along the way to ensure we were focusing on the right thing. We were able to celebrate our differences and learn an awful lot about ourselves along the way. I would highly recommend James to anyone who is seeking to take their team to the next level of greatness.
