The Benefits of an External Facilitator / an alternative way to approach training & development.

I wanted to share with you some of the benefits of engaging us as external facilitators. Why? Because many who would greatly benefit from this option don't even consider it. Even less build in into their learning and development programmes!

Of course, as a leader/manager, you can run the session yourself, right? Some draw a distinct line between training and development, some of which they outsource (this might include: Leadership development, Soft skills, Management training, Communications etc) and internal 'problem solving/solution finding' sessions like Strategy days, Ideation Brainstorms, A new initiative or project workshop.

Consider two possibilities:

  1. Learning, growth and development come from experiences not just formal training. Of course, you know that already. I challenge you to push your thinking on this and explore new possibilities - I expect you'll think of a couple immediately you can put into action directly with your team.
  2. If you free up your head space and capacity by delegating responsibility, you can bring more to the session, part of which might be observing your team in action - even considering what you might do differently yourself to encourage the best in them.

For brevity, I've not included an exhaustive list above. It's worth mentioning that we always take the time to understand your situation, needs and objectives before recommending an approach and or designing a bespoke workshop, day or programme for you.

What is number 3? - It's simply combining the two. I say simply it takes a lot of careful consideration, planning and flexibility in delivery.
