BESA Connects you to National Apprenticeship Week: Will you take the pledge?

BESA is passionate about the future of our industry and that is why we are fully committed to supporting National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) from February 5 to 11.

The theme this year is ‘Skills for Life’ and aims to encourage everyone to consider how apprenticeships can help employers to future-proof their business by developing a workforce with the right skills for the future.

BESA Future Skills Pledge

We are looking for employers who are willing to pledge to take on one or more apprentices to support our industry in tackling the skills shortage we currently face, whilst future-proofing your business.

Read what Steve Joyce, Regional Managing Director, SES North has to say:

By taking the pledge, we will feature your company logo on our dedicated webpage and throughout our campaign - win-win!

Call Our For Case Studies

To amplify our campaign we are keen to hear from both employers and apprentices! Your story could inspire more companies to take the pledge and recruit apprentices this year or it could give a young person the confidence to take that first step in their career.

Importance Of Apprenticeship Programmes

Our industry has an ageing workforce: the number of employees above 60 is increasing more than any other age group and the biggest reduction is in the total of workers under 30.

According to the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) ‘this will have a serious effect on the industry, as essential skills will be lost when employees retire.

This is exacerbated by the fact that the number of new recruits is declining and there will be nobody available to replace those retiring.’ Apprenticeships have a vital role to play in helping close the building services skills gap and we all have a role to play to support our industry and the future skills we desperately need.

By taking on an apprentice you can tailor experience and skills gained to suit their needs, plus the needs of your business, ensuring your company has the skills required for the future of building engineering services.
