Best Remote Control Golf Trolley
1. Motocaddy M7 GPS Remote
With fully integrated GPS, remote control, and a standard 36-hole battery, there’s nothing more you could ask for in an electric golf cart.
The GPS comes preloaded with over 40,000 global golf courses. Everything is visible on the crystal clear 3.5-inch LCD touchscreen display.
The Motocaddy M7 GPS Remote can be controlled manually or by remote control. Using the remote control, you can direct the trolley in any direction.
You can find the location of life-saving AEDs on the screen, as well as important CPR instructions. That’s why we’ve partnered with Motocaddy to launch the Drive for Defibs campaign.
The M7 GPS Remote electric trolley is equipped with Motocaddy’s Downhill Control (DHC) technology, which allows the trolley to maintain a constant speed while going downhill.
Other features of this impressive electric trolley include all-terrain wheels that provide excellent traction in all conditions, a detachable anti-rollover rear wheel that keeps the trolley incredibly stable on undulating golf courses, and Easilock compatibility that secures all Motocaddy cart bags without the need for straps.
The M7 GPS Remote has a slightly larger profile than other M-Serie trolleys, but it still folds neatly and is easy to store.
2. MGI Zip Navigator Remote Electric Trolley
Australian brand MGI is a well-known name in the electric trolley market, and the Zip Navigator model is a welcome addition. The fact that it comes at a competitive price may be the headline feature here, but it’s the many features that make it so enjoyable to use on the course.
The first thing we noticed during our testing was how stable the trolley was. This is largely due to the design, which includes a fourth wheel. This is located at the rear of the trolley to prevent it from tipping backwards when on steep inclines.
The stability is combined with a responsive remote system that we found really effective. We especially liked the downhill speed control, which gave us the confidence that the Zip Navigator would be there for us no matter where we were on the course.
The remote has a handy lock button that keeps it in your pocket so you don’t accidentally press a button. You can also control the kart from the T-bar, but we didn’t use this feature very much.
The trolley is on the heavier side of this category (weighing in at around 16kg/35lbs), but it features a neat design that allows the wheels to flip over and fold away. It’s a relatively compact package, making it a hassle-free system that can fit comfortably in the trunk or boot of your car.
3. MGI Zip Navigator
The MGI Zip Navigator is the ultimate electric golf push cart with remote control. This electric golf caddy is incredibly smooth, has a battery life that can easily cover 36 holes and gives the golfer complete control of the cart’s functions.
This cart also has a hill descent control feature to help you navigate steep hills. If you need more stability, there are also foldable 4-wheel rear wheels. Perhaps one of the best things about the MGI is that it is lightweight and foldable.
Although the MGI has been around for a few years, this particular cart is lighter and smaller than previous models, making it feel more like a traditional push cart than an electric golf cart.
4. PowaKaddy RX1 GPS
The RX1 GPS is a remote controlled electric golf cart with a fully integrated GPS preloaded with over 40,000 golf courses worldwide.
When the RX1 GPS was launched it was introduced as the world’s first touchscreen remote GPS cart. Featuring a stunning 3.5 inch high visibility full colour touchscreen, the GPS provides crystal clear and accurate distances to the front, middle, back and hazards of the green.
Slope Traverse Assist (STA) keeps the cart stable on all terrains and keeps the cart upright on even the most undulating golf courses.
The front wheels do not fold, making this cart slightly larger than other similar carts from competitors. This makes it a bit more difficult to store if you are short on storage space.
5. MGI Zip Navigator AT
MGI’s patented Gyroscope Straight Tracker technology is what makes this electric golf trolley so impressive on undulating golf courses and uneven terrains.
The MGI Zip Navigator AT is incredibly easy to operate, whether you use the remote control or manually control the trolley.
The MGI Zip Navigator AT has a built-in hill speed control, which means that it requires minimal thought and effort to steer the trolley downhill, but still maintains stability.
The importance of the all-terrain-friendly rear anti-roll wheel cannot be overstated. This wheel ensures that the trolley does not roll over on its own when driving uphill.
The standard 36-hole battery will see you through 36 holes before needing a charge. It is very quiet and fits perfectly into the trolley frame.
6. Cart Tek Electric Golf Push Cart
The Cart Tek electric golf push cart is a high-end electric cart with impressive tracking capabilities on hilly golf courses. The slope control ensures that the rear and front wheels remain incredibly stable even while using the remote.
The Cart Tek comes with 4 preset speeds, but you can also choose your own. It has a 24-volt battery and weighs only 3.5 pounds. The 2-year warranty on the cart also helps protect your investment in this Cart Tek electric push cart.
The remote is fully programmable, and I like how this remote feels more like a partner on the course than other golf equipment.

7. Stewart Golf Q Follow Trolley
The new frame design makes the trolley really compact when folded. Getting there was a breeze. It only takes two buttons to fold, and the battery and handset stay securely in place while you work. It’s also nice that it can be stored vertically, which is helpful if space is an issue.
Off the course, the Q Follow was also very easy to use. The Bluetooth handset allows the trolley to follow you at a reasonable distance, providing a truly enjoyable hands-free experience.
However, if needed, you can switch from Follow mode to Remote for more control when needed. I found this feature handy when sending the trolley to the next tee.
Stability was equally impressive. The wide front wheel base leads to a design that almost hugs the ground. Despite its weight, I never had to worry about it tipping over. Overall, it’s an innovative trolley that’s fun to use.
8. Nova Caddy Remote Control
The Nova Caddy remote control electric golf cart is a great option regardless of the size of your golf bag. This cart has a lithium battery and silent charging, which makes it a little more convenient to store at home. This cart also has a 9-speed adjustable motor.
When you first start using an electric push golf cart, you may find it a little slow. Once you get used to the product, the automatic forward cruise and increased speed of up to 5 mph can be really convenient.
You should expect to drive about 12.5 miles before you need to recharge your Nova Caddy remote golf cart. While most carts claim to be able to run around 36 holes, this one can run more than 36 holes.
9. FTR Caddy Trek
The FTR Caddy Trek is a great electric golf caddy for those who love accessories. This product includes an umbrella holder, cup holder, scorecard holder, and even a phone holder. This cart allows you to walk hands-free and make sure all your gear is safely in place.
Remote mode sends the cart up to 110 feet away with excellent navigation and the ability to handle uneven terrain. The FTR Caddy Trek is designed to take up minimal space in your garage. The only issue we had was that it was a little heavy.
With a 24V lithium-ion battery, golfers can play 27 holes and never have to worry about recharging. Also, if the push cart needs to go over a bump or divot, the cart will easily return to its original line and stay on track for the rest of the ride.
Best Golf Trolleys: Buying Guide
The trolley market is a pretty crowded one. Choosing the right cart for you can be tricky. We hope the above reviews have been helpful, but there are a few things to consider before you make your purchase.
Electric/Push
Once you’ve set your budget, the next thing to consider is whether you want (or need) an electric trolley or a push trolley. Electric options tend to cost more, but they offer a lot more features and are much easier to operate, especially if you’re playing on a course that’s a bit bumpy.
Push trolleys are much cheaper, but they’re generally lighter, have more storage space, and are very easy to use. Plus, you don’t have to remember to charge the batteries before a round!
Features
Depending on how much you want to spend and what you need, golf trolleys come with a variety of features. Some are multi-functional, while others appear to only function as trolleys.
All electric models come with adjustable speed control, but some have the ability to travel a certain distance before the trolley stops. Then there are models with touchscreen GPS functionality, which usually come preloaded with tens of thousands of courses from around the world, eliminating the need to purchase a separate handheld GPS or rangefinder.
Many now include shot tracking technology, so you can track your data and see where you need to improve. There are also scorecards, shot measurements, and even the ability to connect your phone while you’re on the course and receive notifications via the LCD screen.
One advantage that push trolleys have over the best electric trolleys is the storage space that comes standard. Many trolleys have space for your phone, balls, tees, valuables, drinks, and even umbrellas. Most electric models will cost you extra for accessory stations that can be attached.
Size
Consider the size. If you can fit your trolley and clubs in your car, then they are not suitable. Likewise, if you are short on storage space at home, then you should choose a more compact model or one whose wheels can be easily removed.
Storage
As mentioned above, push carts come with a lot more storage space as standard than most electric golf carts, so be aware of this. Of course, there is nothing stopping you from buying an electric model if it suits your needs, and while the cart bag will have plenty of storage space, you may want to add an umbrella holder, GPS holder or something to hold your drinks, which can add to the cost.
Durability
Purchasing one of the best golf carts can be a big investment, so make sure it lasts a long time and can handle the various conditions that golfers face on the course.
This is especially true if you are reading this in the UK! If your budget allows, invest in a model made from a durable material like aluminium, and if you plan on playing all year round, consider buying a set of winter wheels.
Bag
If you are looking to buy a golf trolley, it is a good idea to buy the same bag as the brand that made the trolley. The bag is designed to fit perfectly.
Some brands, such as Motocaddy, make hybrid bags that can be used on the trolley or as a stand/carry bag. This is ideal for when you are on a golf trip abroad or forget to charge the battery.
Battery
If you decide to buy an electric trolley, you will need to consider the battery life. Most brands offer either a standard lithium battery or a more expensive extended lithium battery.
In our experience, a standard battery will last much longer than 18 holes. However, if you are someone who regularly plays 36 holes a day or plans to play two or more rounds on the weekend without charging, it may be worth investing a little more for a longer-lasting model.
Budget
In essence, the best remote control golf carts are more expensive than push models. However, even within this category, prices vary widely. We've highlighted the 'best value' models in this guide and they're definitely worth researching to find the best model and the right price.
Conclusion
Choosing the perfect cart to enhance your golf experience can make a huge difference on the course. Golf carts with remote features offer great convenience, allowing you to focus on your game without the distraction of having to manage your equipment.
Also consider how the features of the cart match your specific needs. For example, if you frequently play in a variety of weather conditions, a waterproof design will keep your equipment safe. Incorporating user-friendly technologies will make it run more smoothly and enhance your overall experience.
