The Best Way to Ask For LinkedIn Recommendations
LinkedIn recommendations are one of my favorite ways to build credibility on the platform, and I hope they will be for you, too.
If you don't have any yet, don't worry — you can start today!
💡 Tip of the Day
You don't have to only ask for LinkedIn recommendations when you've left a company. Ask for one from an organizer after you've presented on a panel, from a client whose bottom line you helped improve, or from a student you mentored. All these opportunities show leadership and results and will help others get a more well-rounded understanding of you.
Recommendations also give potential clients, employers, and colleagues a quick look into who you are and can be a key differentiating factor when applying for new jobs.

3. Work with me as a consultant: I’ve supported companies and universities across key business pillars including creating better meetings, building LinkedIn thought leadership strategies for executives, developing editorial strategies, and more. 1yTo recap: 1. You don't have to only ask for LinkedIn recommendations when you've left a company. Ask for one from an organizer after you've: - presented on a panel - from a client whose bottom line you helped improve - from a student you mentored 2. If someone gave you a recommendation, make sure to give one back as it shows you had a working relationship. 3. To add: Only 1st degree connections can give and receive recommendations. It won’t work for 2nd or 3rd degree connections. Appreciate you, Lorraine!
