The best is yet to come, keep going
The best is yet to be, the last of life, for which the first was made. Our times are in his hand who saith, 'A whole I planned, youth shows but half; Trust God: See all, the above lines are from ROBERT BROWNING’S poem Grow along with me. It is an invitation to the reader to grow old along with the poet in order to taste the best of what life gives at an older age which some people usually detest the latter portion of our life is needed to complete life. The Spanish idiom or expression is used to say that good things have happened but that even better things will happen in the future life is good now, but the best is yet to come.
Whatever is happening now will be surpassed by something better in the coming future the best things have not come, but it will. It can be expressed in the sentences given below: Leaving high school has been tough but I know that the best is yet to come. The Indian cricket team has won every game this season, but the coach promises that the best is yet to come. When you are trying out something hardly but you might fail in some cases. so to over come the failure and boosting your self confidence. Or perhaps you mean the Frank Sinatra song, “The Best Is Yet to Come,” which describes how a good but new romance can become even better. What both have in common is the idea that what is already good in human life can become superlatively good (the best) if it persists across time.
This phrase is indicative of the fact that there might have already been several good and gala times, several indelible memories in one's life and still, even better things are there in pipeline for us in the future. This is such an optimistic phrase and it sort of guarantees that out of whatever experiences we have /had and we feel one of them to be the ultimate, life promises to throw in more and better ones on our path . Good, better, best are the three degrees of comparison and every good experience can be taken over by a somewhat better experience and the better by the next higher experience until it is again taken over by something even more superior than it.This is like an infinite process during our entire lifespan, in the query or pursuit for the best…!!!
Don’t just tell yourself that the best is yet to come - believe it. Having a positive, optimistic outlook on the future doesn’t just make you happier; it also improves your performance by increasing your sense of self-efficacy. The mind has a tendency to magnify past pleasure to such a great degree that the present pales in comparison. This phenomenon can make you lose faith in the power of the future to outdo what you’ve already experienced. Don’t be fooled. Believe in the great things the future has in store.

One of the most interesting philosophical questions about man is why we (in general) always see the past as being better than the present. Putting aside any obvious short to medium circumstance like Syrians today versus 10 years ago, generally the opposite is true. If you were to ask 1000 middle aged people in the UK if they thought that the world was a safer and better place today than twenty years ago you would get a resounding majority saying no! Yet if we look at any real evidence that answer would be yes. Much less poverty, violent crime is down people are more affluent , less unemployment, threat of war is lower.
I watched a programme the other day where Paul Simon was asked about what life was like today for him versus the 60's he said "everything was better in the 60's". Again that would be a common belief. In fact though in the 60's in the US there was still apartheid! Vietnam , constant threat of global destruction from Nuclear war. Racism was normal and life expectancy was ten years lower than today. There is always a perception that the past was better than it was and there is always a fear that the future will be bleak. This is part of human nature. However for the vast majority of people on this planet there has never been a better time to be alive in our history. For the majority If you are Chinese, Indian, Russian, British, French, German, US etc now is the best time to be alive. Born today you will be better educated, fed and safer than anytime in Human History. Hard to believe but today is the least violent period probably in Human History. Think of any other time and you will find much more war and pestilence.
Clearly if you are born in Iraq , Kurdistan, Syria, Egypt , Somalia etc you may have a different view. So back to the question. In general the world keeps improving and there is no reason to think that will stop. In fact the technological developments that are likely over the next few years could make a massive difference to the lot of man. Of course we have a big challenges, as does every generation, and perhaps our biggest two are the Environment and Religion. Energy production and healthcare are likely to be transformed in the next twenty years.
A solar panel the size of an iPad that can power your whole house and your electric car? A sensor you wear that self diagnosis any illness and links to an app that proscribes treatment. Space travel for all! Plus hover boards. We have to learn to spread our wealth better and learn to everybody as one species and not as individual tribes. If we can do that the future for man is very positive. Cheers!
