#BetaTest How to Build Your Business Strategy - A Customisable, DIY Strategy Tool

First off, thank you for helping me with the beta test of this new strategy tool web app and output that I am developing.

If you're just landing on this page randomly by clicking a link to get here (not sent by me, or one of my posts or emails), or were referred to this page by someone else, please reach out to me for full instructions.

I'm testing out the web app I built to help you create and customise your own DIY Business Strategy Model. It takes your core business concepts and then positions your own concepts onto a 4-sided pyramid model as a PDF. Then, you can print it out on a printer, cut it out, fold it and transform it into the 3D pyramid (called a tetrahedron, for us engineering geeks lol).

It's kind of like an "Ikea flatpack" but for business Strategy lol - you create it, design it, print it (flat), and then 'build it' into a 3D object that you can hold in your hands.

As this is quite a dynamic process, I'll add more instructions and notes here as well, to capture any of the feedback that has been raised, so please bookmark/save this page as well as Like and comment below. Please feel free to comment below with any questions, concerns, feedback etc that might be helpful. Of course, you can also send me a DM at any time.

I need to work out some of the technical bugs in the app, but what is most important is to get feedback from you on:

1. how it is being used,
2. what pieces might be missing,
3. how to better 'explain it',
4. how to 'start' (creating the words around your strategy model),
5. how the 'builder' and pages could be simplified,
6. other ways to improve the tool and the environment around it, 
7. how you feel that you might use it - for yourself, for clients, for coaching, for training...,
8. how the overall experience was for you.

I'll be collecting this feedback on a google form that I will send the link to you once you've been able to complete your strategy model.

Here are some quick instructions as well as the link to the strategy builder tool:

1. go to http://creator.stratahedron.digital and you can design your own business strategy "stratahedron" model. Follow the instructions there on how to add your words & concepts to the model. There is also an intro video that you can watch (I might add another video here, shortly).
2. Fill out all of the elements and sub-elements with your own business model. If you're not sure of what words to use, you can just leave the default words that are there. If you need help brainstorming, please reach out.
3. Once finished you will need to enter your details so that it will download the file and also email you the pdf design. There currently isn't a way to save your model, other than via email and the PDF that is created, but you can go back and design as many models as you like.
4. Print out the PDF and then cut & fold it into the tetrahedron shape. You can tape it together, or add some glue along the edges to hold it together.
5. Once you've created your own strategy model, can you please be so kind as to take a photo of it (or even better as a selfie with you and your strategy model), and either send it to me, post it in the comments below, or put it in a social post and tag me?

Just some background - this pyramid/tetrahedron model is based upon one of my strategy models as part of what I call "The Way of the Ensei" - delivering strategies & tactics in business transformation in the form of a Digital Expedition... this is one piece of that puzzle, but one of the big ones that allow you to see and visualize what your true business model can look like. This 3D strategy model can then also be used as a roadmap for execution, to show you the specific steps that you need to take to implement your strategy - to help you solve the 'what' and the 'when'... but that's a conversation for another day :)

All of the words on the model are customizable in the app (except for a few points of the foundation), so you can truly design it completely to what you want it to look like. Add in the words and concepts that are important to you and your business.

Some things to look out for (for the tech):

1. You can't save your model yet - only download & email it to yourself at the end after completing the form (but you can create as many designs as you'd like)
2. The word wrap is not available yet, so keep an eye out on your model preview for text that pushes out past the limits of each triangle. Try to use single words or short 3-word phrases to get your message across and so that it fits on the model
3. Copy & paste has mixed results at this point - best to type your words in directly.
4. The 'default' words are there to give you some structure to start with for your model. If you want to leave these words in place, don't click in the text box for these words, otherwise, you will need to re-enter them.

One of the harder steps to getting this done is brainstorming and articulating the ideas around your own model - if you want to reach out to get some ideas, please do so and I will help. I also might run a few strategy model brainstorming sessions coming up if enough people would like some additional help here, to really make it work well for you.

I am also planning on having a couple of short zoom meetings as well in the next couple of weeks or so, as well as a few other activities to help move this along. I would love to have you come and join in on zoom at some point if possible and share your model and give some feedback with the process.

If you're able to, I'll send some Google form questions at the end, to help you organise your feedback. And, I've also got a couple of "surprise" packs available if you're able to help, and as a thank you for your assistance and feedback.
