Beyond imaging - supporting radiologists deliver on the promise of precision diagnosis
At the Radiology Society of North America’s (RSNA) Annual Meeting, we’ll be demonstrating innovative imaging systems and intelligent AI-enabled software applications.
These combine to support radiologists in delivering precision diagnosis of patients while also increasing departmental productivity by 30% or more.
By way of example, check out how we’re working with the University of Vermont Medical Center (UVM) in the US. We’re helping them make sense of huge amounts of data which enables them to evolve their practice into precise, integrated diagnostics and seamless patient care centers.
What’s important is that UVM is looking at radiology, pathology and genomic data in an integrated way. By leveraging tele-radiology and tele-pathology technology, professionals across all hospitals in its State-wide network will work as one integrated team.
An important driver behind its vision is its commitment to deliver on the objectives of the Quadruple Aim – improved health outcomes, patient experience, staff satisfaction and a lower cost of care. In a world of growing populations, increased lifespans and the rise of chronic medical conditions and multi-morbidities, delivering on these four aims is crucial.
It’s why customers like UVM seek true long term engagement in partnership with tech firms like Philips. And it’s why they expect solutions (suites of systems, smart devices, software and services) which are able to connect people and patients seamlessly while optimizing workflows, improving care pathways and drawing insights from data.
At Philips we combine AI and other technologies with knowledge of the clinical and operational context in which they are used – a people-centered approach that we call ‘adaptive intelligence’. We use this to augment health professionals in their clinical decision-making effectively across the entire healthcare network.
Such advanced solutions are also helping to significantly increase the utilization and productivity of medical processes and systems. They require a deeper level of collaboration between vendors and health system customers – as well as other stakeholders like Governments, patients and industry bodies.
That’s why we at Philips are so pleased to be at RSNA – to meet a wide range of current and potential customers, better understand their challenges and co-create new ways of working that keep the patient right at the heart of our thinking.
The 104th Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) takes place in Chicago on November 25-30.
