Beyond the Podcast: How Podcasting Opened Doors I Never Knew Existed
Hey there friends,
I am buzzing from the news I received this week and I had to write a newsletter immediately because this moment feels too significant not to share.
The what's app message I've been waiting for ✨
On Tuesday morning, I received a what's app message from Beiersdorf. You might remember them - the company that found me through Instagram and asked me to come to Germany to speak at their yearly Brand Summit for a panel discussion. OMG! They want me back for 2 full days of fun! As I sat there, staring at my phone, it hit me: this isn't just about one company or one opportunity. This is about what happens when you dare to create something bigger than yourself.
A Confession 💭
Can I be completely honest with you?
When I first started "Pharmacist Diaries," I was nervous and awkward. Recording in my makeshift home studio (aka my living room with blankets and pillows for soundproofing), I never imagined that pressing that little red 'record' button would lead to such extraordinary opportunities.
The journey from those first nervous recordings to international speaking engagements, brand partnerships, and coaching relationships has been nothing short of transformative. Each step, though sometimes small, has been part of a larger metamorphosis that I never could have predicted.
The plot twist that no-one tells you about 🎭
Here's the thing about creating opportunities: they never come from where you expect.
Take The Naked Pharmacy partnership, for example. I wasn't actively seeking brand collaborations when it happened. I interviewed their CEO who is also a fellow pharmacist, fell in love with the brand, and then emailed them to find out if they'd be willing to consider a form of collaboration. Something magical happens when you keep showing up with authenticity and purpose - the right doors begin to open, often in the most unexpected ways.
What started as a simple podcast has blossomed into:
- Brand notice and collaboration opportunities
- Organic opportunity growth
- Becoming a trusted voice
- Multiple income streams
The reality check 📊
Behind the successful episodes and growing audience numbers, there's been a mountain of work that nobody sees. We're talking 162 episodes, countless early morning or late evening recording sessions, and tech failures that felt catastrophic at the time. There have been episodes that never saw the light of day, moments of impostor syndrome, and yes, some emotionals ups and downs.
But here's the beautiful thing about persistence: it always pays off, even if the timeline doesn't match our expectations.
But then... magic started happening ✨
The transformation wasn't a single dramatic moment - it was more like a series of small victories that gradually gained momentum.
A follower became a client, opening my eyes to the possibility of coaching.
A guest turned into a collaborator, showing me the power of authentic connections.
A brand became a employer, demonstrating that my voice had real value in the market.
What started as a passion project is slowly but surely evolving into a profession, each step building on the last.
The current chapter 🌟
This week has been particularly surreal. Between confirming my first two podcast coaching clients and planning my trip to Germany, I've barely had time to process it all. Yet each of these developments represents a different facet of what's possible when you stay committed to your vision.
Behind the glitter 💫
Having multiple income streams means more than just financial security - it represents freedom to choose projects that align with my values and the ability to impact more lives in meaningful ways. My career doesn't feel like work anymore because it's built around my passions and strengths, rather than trying to fit into someone else's mold.
Your Turn 🎤
I believe wholeheartedly that your story is just waiting to be written. Whether you're:
- Recording your first episode
- Building your personal brand
- Dreaming of location freedom
Recommended by LinkedIn
- Wanting to diversify your income
- Seeking meaningful partnerships
The path is there, waiting for you to create it. It might not look exactly like mine, but that's the beauty of personal journeys - they're uniquely yours to craft.
This week's gentle push 💝
Take a moment to reflect deeply on these questions:
1. What story am I telling myself about what's possible?
2. Where am I playing too small?
3. What would I do if I knew I couldn't fail?
4. Who needs to hear my voice?
A little secret 🤫
Want to know the best part about all of this?
The moments that scared me the most - hitting publish on that first episode, pitching to brands, asking for what I'm worth - those were the moments that led to the biggest breakthroughs. Fear, I've learned, is often just excitement in disguise.
I'd love to hear about your journey. What's your current chapter looking like? Where do you want your story to go? What's holding you back? How can I help you write your next page?
