Big Ideas That Will Change Our World - A Philosophy That Got Lost

Big Ideas That Will Change Our World in 2022 - PART IV (See PART III, PART II & PART I)

The economy is a reflection of society, so it is the root of the change we need to prepare for at the dawn of 2022, a new year of new hopes.

The general economic atmosphere needs to change in accordance with society's mood.

The practical changes that have taken place in organizations will provide the foundation for making the necessary changes on a psychological, mental level.

One thing is clear, the economy and especially business organizations can no longer isolate themselves as a purely professional unit, but are moving towards a social economy: and here comes the big question, what is a social economy anyway?

One thing is clear, the economy and especially business organizations can no longer isolate themselves as a purely professional unit, but are moving towards a social economy: and here the big question, what is a social economy anyway?

"Social economics is a branch of economics—and a social science—that focuses on the relationship between social behavior and economics. ... These practitioners of social economics use history, current events, politics, and other social sciences to predict social trends that could potentially impact the economy." Investopedia

There was a time when the world still presented us with many temptations, mesmerizing music, rich literature, various belief systems, and especially a deep, convincing, moral philosophy of life, with strong arguments. But in our time all this is losing its power, and today things are much less convincing and appealing:

What else in the world can we get excited about now?

>> Trying a new fashion?

>> Follow shifting political opinions?

Everything has becomes meaningless, and we can add to that all the new far out immersive offerings from the big tech companies that want to take over our lives. It's no wonder that the only thing a person can get addicted to anymore is drugs, a momentary pleasure.

How To Bring Back Meaning?

The objectives of every organization will continue to be all the standard things - success, efficiency, development and stability. The required changes are a result of the shift in human evolution that is pressuring us. Meaning they are not directly tied to the business organizations, but are rather forced on us by nature. So ideally we will agree to participate in nature's plan as quickly as possible, and stop trying to fight it. We all know how that will turn out. So my message to all the stakeholders out there, we need to face these changes head on - search for the new format that will guarantee our entry into the new business arena.

There are three main elements we need to learn how to rebuild -

  • the internal organization
  • the external organization
  • environmental conditions

What We Need To Pay Attention To

Just as mistreatment of our physical environment is detrimental to all of us, mistreatment of our social environment has (at the very least) equally detrimental consequences. Now that people are aware of the need to preserve the physical environment, it is time to become aware of the need to cultivate positive social environments. Just as we are dependent on each other for the water we drink and the food we eat, we are dependent on each other for the words we say and the thoughts we think, which in turn affect our mental and emotional condition.

To become aware of our social interdependence, we must change our entire environment. We cannot expect people to think that consideration is good when the idols that the media promotes are self-centered and only promote their own image. At school, on social media, and on every means of mass communication, we must promote prosocial values.

We can heal the society by bringing people together rather than keeping them a random collection of alienated and distrustful individuals.

If we learn to value those who promote solidarity and mutual consideration, our communities will look very different from how they do today. We want to curb gun violence, drug abuse, and social problems, but instead of curing society, we are only fighting the symptoms. We can heal the society by bringing people together rather than keeping them a random collection of alienated and distrustful individuals. If we work on this, we will not need to tackle each symptom separately since they will disappear without the cause that generates them.

We can do it this year, but we must understand that we have no other choice, and we must support each other in the process. And since the process can often be demoralizing, the most important thing any of us can do is keep everyone motivated about working toward a brighter future that is ours for the taking.
