Unlike regular polyester, known for its durability and quick-drying properties but often criticized for its less natural feel, drirelease® fabrics incorporate a mix of synthetic and natural fibers to offer the best of both worlds.

Our TOP drirelease® Developments

Utenos Trikotažas has advanced drirelease®  technology by developing entirely new fabric articles, featuring an engineered blend of multi-denier, multi-staple length synthetic, hydrophobic (water-repelling) fibers combined with natural, hydrophilic (water-absorbing) fibers. The top (most desired) materials are crafted from drirelease®  polyester and recycled polyester fiber blends with cotton, lyocell-Tencel, wool, and hemp.

According to Jolanta Streiziene , the Head of Sales at Utenos Trikotažas, every innovation requires adding a personal touch to offer a truly unique product to the market. Therefore, Utenos Trikotažas did not limit itself to just the yarn blends offered by drirelease®  but took on the challenge of creating its own mixes, and then offer clients even more valuable properties.

“The primary challenge involved harmonizing the dyeing process between our natural compositions and polyester fibers, much like bridging the gap between Venus and Mars. But, as always, nothing is impossible” says Jolanta Streižienė, Head of Sales at Utenos Trikotažas.

Sublimation on Drirelease® Blends with Natural Fibers

It's no surprise that sublimation can be applied to 100% polyester fabrics. But did you know that sublimation is also possible on blends with natural fibers? Take a look at our beautiful fabrics featuring Drirelease® combined with cotton and Tencel.

Both Recycled and Regular

Since Utenos Trikotažas unlocked endless possibilities of blending drirelease® fibers with almost any other fiber, the choice between regular or recycled fibers ultimately depends on the client's preference.

"drirelease®  itself has many great properties, but with our extra efforts from R&D, we have achieved an extremely natural look and natural touch – often the deal breakers for some people when choosing their activewear," says Jolanta Streižienė.

drirelease® Blend with Pineapple Fiber

We always test all the innovations that drirelease® offers, and we always add our own innovations. Currently, we are intensively working with one of the newest blends, made from farm waste. This blend combines natural hydrophilic fibers made from pineapple leaves with special hydrophobic synthetic fibers for optimized performance. Stay tuned for new updates from our R&D.
