Boomerang, Publicis and VIA Nederland organize Future Bosses Lunch for Neurodivergent talent.
Amsterdam, 13 February 2023: Both the development and the appreciation of talent is important in our industry. That is precisely the reason why we will be paying more attention to a subject that is still underexposed within DEI (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion): Neurodiversity. Boomerang and Publicis’ 'For Better’ program join forces with VIA Nederland to take the ‘dis’ out of disability in order to make neurodivergent talents feel at home in our industry.
An estimated 15% of the population are neurodivergent – a term that covers autism, ADHD, dyslexia, Tourette’s syndrome, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia and more. According to psychologist Devon McEachron, neurological differences in the current medical model are seen as dysfunctional, a disorder or a handicap. This is reflected in the underrepresentation of neurodivergent employees in the workplace, while neurodiversity is a part of our genetics and evolution as humans. It is a part of what makes us all different and unique.
During Neurodiversity Celebration Week Via Nederland, Boomerang and Publicis ‘For Better’ will organize a Future Bosses lunch on Friday the 24th of March for recently graduated neurodivergent talent.
Through the Future Bosses Lunch, Via Nederland, Boomerang and Publicis want to provide a platform for important career and life questions to raise both awareness and knowledge about neurodiversity on the work floor.
The participating parties are Mindshare, Lijn, Havas Lemz, Publicis Groupe, Marble Content and Boomerang.
