Expoalimentaria 2024, held from September 25-27 in Lima, Peru, was a significant event for the food and beverage industry in the country. As the most important fair in the region, it served as a crucial platform for growers, producers, retail, and logistics operators to connect and explore new business opportunities.

Maersk's strong presence

Maersk had a prominent presence at the event, positioning itself as the expert end-to-end logistics partner in Peru. The team engaged with attendees to understand their logistics needs and pain points, offering tailored solutions to enhance their supply chains. In addition, the expert panel sponsored by Maersk was a success, with a large audience and the key participation of leaders from the fruit and vegetable industry.

The fair was also a great opportunity to reinforce Maersk’s commitments in the market. This includes our investments in Olmos, Peru with the construction of a new Logistics Centre. This project aims to optimise the supply chain from the very beginning of food production. It will create a solid impact in the local community by providing a solution that extends the shelf life of products without compromising on decarbonisation goals. The new facility is scheduled to operate from March 2025.

The Logistics Centre aims to provide services to producers in the Olmos area. The installations have been designed to provide excellent service to our customers, ensuring the best handling of fruit, from production to shipment, with a high level of automation and technology. At Maersk, we are very excited for what this project represents at an investment level in the region, and for the positive impact it will have on the agro-export sector in Peru.
