Brand engagement heightens for Atlantic Packaging with digital corrugated production

A decade ago, our digital exploration commenced, but it wasn’t until 2018 that we delved into single-pass digital production in corrugated materials, driven by a demand for high-quality graphics.

Customers sought greater flexibility, shorter lead times, and reduced minimum order quantities, aligning with sustainability goals.

Recognizing the need to seize opportunities in corrugated, we embarked on a journey. Over the past five years, digital presses have evolved rapidly, enhancing quality, speed, and efficiency.

Our wishlist included features like product versioning, flexible graphics changes, and high-quality printing on diverse materials. Efficiency drivers encompassed no plate costs, unlimited customization, serialization, promotions, quicker time to market, and reduced run lengths.

Sustainability was a priority, seeking water-based, non-toxic inks that are odourless, flexible, non-fading, and abrasion-resistant. A lower environmental footprint and minimal material waste were crucial factors.

After evaluating various presses and engaging in discussions with manufacturers, the Koenig & Bauer Durst’s Delta SPC 130 emerged as the ideal choice. Since launching digital production last year, we haven’t looked back.

The Delta SPC 130 not only met our criteria but also facilitated enhanced engagement with brand owners, particularly in marketing seasonal products. Brands increasingly see digital corrugated production as a viable option.

Our journey in digital corrugated production has been remarkable, and I eagerly anticipate sharing our story at the SPC Open House in Lienz on Tuesday, 19 March.

I can’t wait!
