Be Brave. Be Fearless.

Be Brave. Be Fearless.

On this International Women’s Day, we spend time thinking about where our gender is within society. This day always has me spend a little more time thinking about The Fearless Girl statue standing outside of the New York Stock Exchange. She means something different to each of us. At first glance, you may think she is defiant: standing with her hand on her hips, chest pushed forward and chin up. To me she means much more than that. I see a young woman with determination and confidence. But to be fearless, you have to be all of this and then some. Other characteristics that also need attention and are sometimes overlooked include being vulnerable, asking for help, having a voice, and knowing when to make a different decision. Be free with your knowledge and information.

Each of us has the opportunity to be a leader no matter your title or status within an organization. Today I challenge each of you who spends time reading this to do a little self-reflection. What areas do you need to focus on to change? How can you help others to become more well-rounded? To do so does not require a title that indicates you are a manager. Be thoughtful. Be purposeful. Over time, you and those around you will notice a difference. Start today to make a commitment to be brave. Be fearless.

Appreciate this Amy! I am learning it is a consistent awareness, ever evolving, to make sure that you continually push through the next challenge. To recognize those challenges as growth opportunities for you and those around you that are looking for your leadership. #bebrave #befearless #iwd2020
