BREAKING: ADD A SOUNDTRACK TO YOUR INSTAGRAM PROFILE

Happy Monday everyone!

I hope you all had a great weekend.

There have been some huge developments this past week, especially from Instagram. With further ado, let’s get straight into the updates.

1. Instagram’s Testing a New Option Which Allows You To Add a Song to Your Profile

It’s rumoured that Instagram is currently testing a new feature that would allow users to add a song to their profile. As you can see in this example from Alessandro Paluzzi, Instagram users would be able to select a song to show on their profile alongside a customisable caption. It’s currently unclear on how often you’d be able to alter your soundtrack or even when the update will be rolled out. It’s definitely giving MySpace but this update is a good reminder that all trends come back around at some point, even those on social media! What would be your song of choice?

2. YouTube’s Providing More Creators with Access to Shoppable Links

If you didn’t already know, social media shopping is here to stay. It's safe to say that a substantial proportion of the estimated growth in e-commerce over the next few years will come from social media shopping. While social networks continue to expand in size and social commerce appears to be developing faster than anything we've seen in recent years, the potential income base will also surge. Creators on social media can have a significant impact on what people are buying. They produce consistent content, engage their audience to a high degree, and most importantly, have a track record of raking in revenue. If you've got the budget, now is the time to consider influencer marketing to take full advantage of this upcoming trend.

3. Instagram Launches Testing Of In-App Scheduling

Social media marketers rejoice! Internal Instagram scheduling looks like it’s on the horizon. A live test of in-app scheduling has been launched by Instagram, initially with a small number of testers with the likelihood of expansion in the near future. In-app scheduling could be a terrific addition for creators, allowing you to plan out your Instagram publishing schedule whenever you choose while still having access to all of Instagram's creation tools and options.

4. LinkedIn Adds New Link Stickers

LinkedIn has now added ‘Person’ and ‘Page’ variations, allowing even more methods to increase traffic with your LinkedIn posts. Link Sticker was launched back in August, enabling more creative options for your posts. Despite the fact that LinkedIn Stories didn't work out, parts of what would have been in LinkedIn Stories are now appearing in standard post options, such as these link sticker options and new post designs. This update provides a range of new considerations for building your LinkedIn presence, and engaging your audience in the app.
