The Bricklayer's Guide To Online Personal Training

The Bricklayer's Guide To Online Personal Training

I hope this newsletter finds you in good spirits this weekend and ready for a strong week ahead!

Today, I'm here to debunk a myth that's been swirling around the fitness world for almost a decade now - the idea that an "online personal trainer" is a real thing.

Picture this: You're a skilled bricklayer, renowned for your craftsmanship and ability to build magnificent structures.

One day, you come across the idea of offering your services online. After all, if people can order food and clothes online, why not bricklaying?

Sounds absurd, right?

Let's explore why the same principle applies to personal training!

  • Building Foundations in Person:

As a personal trainer, you excel in hands-on guidance, observing your clients' form, and providing immediate feedback.

It's like laying one brick at a time, carefully aligning them to create a solid foundation for your clients' fitness journey.

Online platforms, no matter how advanced, cannot replicate this essential aspect of your expertise.

  • Craftsmanship Requires Physical Presence:

Imagine our bricklayer trying to lay bricks through a screen, using emojis to demonstrate techniques. It's comical, right?

Similarly, personal training requires your physical presence to assess and correct body mechanics, create tailored programs, and ensure safety during exercises.

You're a craftsman in the gym, not a virtual wizard.

  • The Power of Physical Connection:

One of the key ingredients to effective personal training is building strong physical connections with your clients.

There's no getting around the fact that It's a unique bond that can only be established through face-to-face interactions, high-fives, and maybe even the occasional friendly banter.

Emoji-based motivation just doesn't have the same impact!

But does that mean you can't motivate, inspire, and provide a supportive environment for growth online?

ABSOLUTELY NOT.

Embrace Online Coaching

Before you think I'm dismissing the online space, let me clarify - my point today is that personal trainers are stepping into an entirely new domain when entering the online coaching space.

It's an opportunity to deliver your expertise and services in an entirely new way

With additional support, resources, virtual check-ins, educational content, community, and even live Q&A sessions.

Personal trainers are often pleasantly surprised to discover that their clients frequently achieve superior results through online coaching, with our assistance in building and delivering their service using a proven model.

But it's crucial to recognize the differences between Personal Training and Online Coaching.

So, let's put the myth of the "online personal trainer" to rest.

Embrace the new way of delivering client success, an online world where your expertise can thrive every bit as much as it does in person (if not more)

Create a service where your clients receive the full benefits of your dedication.

Remember, you're the bricklayers of the fitness world, and nothing can 'replace' your hands-on approach.

But that doesn't mean there aren't other ways to have an impact in the lives of your clients while making a damn good living doing so.

Whichever path you choose, keep building those solid foundations, one brick at a time!
