Bringing the Meyer Orestor 135 mm f/2.8 Lens to Life

Today, I want to share my story about a remarkable lens: the Meyer Orestor 135 mm f/2.8. Manufactured between 1966 and 1978 by @MeyerOptik in East Germany, this lens is renowned for its incredible bokeh and the rich colors it can render. Originally designed for the M42 mount, it quickly became a favorite among photographers due to its excellent quality-to-price ratio and outstanding optical characteristics.

Recently, I decided to bring this lens to life by mounting it on my @Canon R7. With the help of an M42 to EOS R adapter, the process was simple and efficient. I was impressed by how this vintage lens integrates with modern technology, allowing me to explore new dimensions in my photography.

Using this lens, I captured a series of photographs that showcase not only the vibrant colors it produces but also its remarkably soft and pleasing bokeh. It’s fascinating how a lens from the '60s can provide me with a fresh perspective on contemporary subjects.

I would love to share some of the images taken with this lens, hoping they will inspire you to explore similar combinations of vintage and modern technology. What are your thoughts on classic lenses? Do you believe they deserve to be brought back to life?
