The Budding Entrepreneur Club Launch - The Shard
Last Wednesday, it was the big day of our launch. I woke up at 3.55am not knowing how many people were going to turn up that particular evening but thankfully, 200 entrepreneurial individuals turned to launch The Budding Entrepreneur Club. It was a real mix of entrepreneurial talented from young aspiring entrepreneurs to entrepreneurs with already successful businesses, investors and partners at corporates.
The event went really well and it was great to see so many entrepreneurs talking to one another, exchanging ideas but most importantly, talking about how they can help one another which I believe is vital for entrepreneurs. I have always thought, I might as well go to as many events, conferences as possible as you never know who you might meet, well, that one person who you meet, could change your business forever so that is why I launched, The Budding Entrepreneur Club (TBE Club).
We heard from some inspirational public figures including Levi Roots who ''got the evening off in true style with a song and his story about being a reluctant hopeful on Dragons’ Den ten years ago. He claims he only went on the show to prove to his kids he wasn’t too old – so look where that attitude got him!'' (Uni's Not For Me).
''Alfie Best started Wyldecrest Parks which is now the country’s largest residential park and holiday home operator. His story is one of determination to succeed – which for the most part was against the odds. As a Gypsy, he didn’t have the easiest start in life but learned valuable life lessons and business skills from his time selling tarmac door-to-door or flogging second hand cars.
He made two passionate appeals to the audience who he referred to as the realsuperstars. First, everyone can and will make mistakes. But the measure of you and your business is how you pick yourself up when things go wrong. Second, nobody but you can stop you from getting what you want from business – so give it your all.'' (Uni's Not For Me)
Our event was interacted by 2.7m people across social media on the evening which was incredible. The BBC were also engaging with our social media posts throughout the evening.
The next day, we were also featured in Fortune Magazine and I was honoured to be named as a '18 Under 18: Meet the Young Innovators Who Are Changing the World.'
I believe being part of that entreprenurial community is so important for entrepreneurs who are looking to take their businesses to the next level, so if you are keen to be part of our entrepreneurs community, apply now. Our next event is on October 12th in Oxford Circus with some very exciting and inspiring guest speakers!
To finish off, here are some quotes from the guest speakers on the evening:
“Stars shone from The Shard by way of young business entrepreneurs bursting with energy and life which was evident from within the room. ” Alfie Best, Wyldecrest Parks.
“The Budding Entrepreneur Club is a fantastic opportunity for entrepreneurial individuals to meet and collaborate with each other…” Levi Roots, Reggae Reggae Sauce.
Our promotional video is now up, so take a look!
I hope to see you at one of our events soon.
Kind regards,
Ollie - TBE Club.
