Building Community: From Online to In Person and Beyond
I always knew I wanted to own my own business. I always assumed it would be within the four walls of a restaurant. When the pandemic happened, and restaurants closed, I moved online and Acquire was born. I learned quickly how to build community online at a time when we were all forced to find creative ways to connect deeply. Last week, I hit the road and met two amazing clients in person. Connecting in person is wildly impactful. These relationships have me reflecting on how we got here and why they continue to choose Acquire for their client engagements long after the end of the pandemic.
Both of my events last week included the host companies bringing their top customers together. I met the team from SCOR in person for the first time last week. We got to know each other so intimately hosting countless virtual events that getting to hug people and connect in person was nothing short of magic. The next day, I met Intradiem in Scottsdale. This is the third time they have had me out to host a tasting at this conference. I draw a lot of parallels from my time spent in restaurants, probably because it is where I spent so much time. Seeing them and their top customers is like seeing regulars, like coming home to a long-distance family. The network we’ve built across the country is extraordinary and leaves me with such profound gratitude. Both of these companies started with virtual and now use Acquire for in-person engagements and client gifting. To be considered a partner to these two companies is such an honor. After some reflection, I believe that there are a few things that make us a long-lasting partner for our corporate clients.
