Building a Green Supply Chain- for a "Sustainable Future"!!
Sustainability in the supply chain!
The sustainability of firms' supply chains is becoming an increasingly prevalent topic of discussion among business leaders. This is mostly the result of recently enacted and expanding legislation concerning the sustainability of supply chains, as well as an increasing demand from customers that the items they buy be produced in a sustainable manner.
A sustainable supply chain protects people and habitats by using environmentally and socially sustainable practices throughout. An organization meets environmental and social criteria for its own and its suppliers' operations.
Environmental standards cover degradation, deforestation, greenhouse gas emissions, pollution, and water security. Working conditions, forced labor, fair employment practices, and safety are social standards.
Sustainability is frequently understood to mean "environmentally sustainable" or "good for the planet." Businesses and individuals use this word without addressing social sustainability. An environmentally friendly product that harms employees or communities is not sustainable.
Sustainable vs. ethical, responsible, and green supply chains
Green supply chain-This focuses on supply chain sustainability. These include pollution, water use, greenhouse gas emissions, deforestation, and other environmental repercussions for a business and its suppliers. Green supply chains may not consider corporate ethics and social implications.
Ethical supply chain-Some people use "ethical supply chain" interchangeably with "sustainable" or "responsible". This concept emphasizes supply chain social and working conditions.
Responsible supply chain- This word usually refers to a holistic supply chain management method in which companies ethically, environmentally, and socially acquire and procure goods and services.
