Building a Side Asset for Long-term Cash Flow: The Power of Mentorship and Planning Ahead

Building a Side Asset for Long-term Cash Flow: The Power of Mentorship and Planning Ahead

If there's one truth I've realized in the last decade of navigating the e-commerce space, it's this: building a side asset isn't just about the money. It's about understanding the value of money, planning long-term, and preparing for the future – no matter how unpredictable it might be.

Now, let me take you back a bit. When I started on this journey almost ten years ago, I faced a whirlwind of challenges. Trusting the process of building was perhaps the hardest. When you're in the thick of it, it’s easy to lose sight of the bigger picture, to doubt the steps you're taking, especially when they require consistent, "boring" actions. The kind of actions that involve doing the same thing over and over again. But here's the catch, and I mentioned it in the past: successful actions often feel monotonous because you’re saying old things to new people. But, as the saying goes, “Don’t let the fear of striking out, keep you from playing the game.”

Yet, through these challenges, my anchor remained the same – my mentor. A beacon in the fog, someone who'd walked this path before me. Without my mentor’s guidance and persistent encouragement, I doubt I'd have stayed the course. He taught me to see past the immediate hurdles and to grasp the long-term benefits of growing this asset. And in the process, I also learned to grow myself.

Why is a side asset that offers consistent cash flow so crucial, you ask?

With the unpredictable swings of the stock market and the current financial fragility many face (did you know most people don't have even $500 in their savings account?), building an asset becomes not just a choice but a necessity. It's about having that safety net, that fallback option. And the beauty of the style of e-commerce that I teach and have built, is that you can start small, leveraging a solid business system, to pave a path toward financial freedom.

For those reading this – professionals, entrepreneurs, students – remember this: It's easy to get disheartened when the journey feels repetitive or when the results aren't immediate. It might even feel boring. But, and trust me on this, when you see the positive impact of your actions on others, the 'boring' becomes exciting. Suddenly, you're not just working for yourself; you're making a difference. And that? That is exhilarating.

So, if you ever find yourself feeling "bored" or lost in your journey, shift your focus. Focus more on others, on the difference you're making, and less on yourself. Dive deep, trust the process, and maybe, just maybe, find yourself a mentor to light the way. You might just have the most fun and rewarding experience of your life.
