Building AND Sustaining Momentum in Your Job Search

Building AND Sustaining Momentum in Your Job Search

Is this you?

You have been:

  • Applying for jobs on the big boards and the niche boards.
  • Attending networking events, conferences, coffee chats, meetups, big and small. On weekdays, over lunch, in the evening and most weekends.
  • You are telling anyone you meet about you and your job search
  • You have been doing deep connecting on LinkedIn, not just with the recruiter but with anyone on the IT team that looks like they could help you.
  • You are looking for people who used to work at the companies you want to work for to see if they could make an intro for you.
  • You are volunteering at events to check coats so you can meet everyone!
  • You have been keeping self-care a priority.
  • You have been working your mindset to keep yourself thinking positive.
  • You have been looking at all your interviews and seeing what you might be able to do to improve.

You are all in!

You have been doing all the things;

you have built great momentum and NOTHING!

Very few interviews and no offers!

Now is when you start to tell yourself, “I am finally showing up hard for this job search. I have given this search everything I have, and now I have reached my capacity of what I know to do.”

Congratulations, you have just started to build momentum!

Yep. You have just started.

Because when we have given all this effort into our search, we believe we deserve to have the results we are seeking NOW.

And sometimes it does happen. Big effort gives you fast results.

And sometimes it takes longer.

Which means that now is the time to become the person that can sustain the momentum you have created for as long as it takes to get that reach your goal.

You have found the amount of effort and the actions you need to give to your job search and to be all in working at your top capacity.

Now you choose to become the person where this new top capacity is something you do for your job search every day.

You are now the person who is fully showing up, giving 100% effort and are willing to do whatever it takes.

  • You realize that you have found the starting point of your momentum that is going to create the results you want.
  • You know you must stay in this high level of commitment to keep the momentum going.
  • You must continue to believe that the actions you are taking are working.
  • You consider your actions and make adjustments to speed up your momentum even more.
  • You ask for and get coaching and support (Career Alchemy Anyone!) so that nothing stops you from achieving your goal!
  • You have found your new normal. It requires you to give a lot of yourself, but it is not over-hustling. It is a purposeful effort!

The offer will come, and you know this in your soul.

You may have operated this way in your tech job before, but you have never operated at this level of capacity and energy in your job search before.

You are now officially blowing your own mind.    🤯

You keep sustaining your momentum until you get what you want. Period.

Stay inspiHER’d,

 ~Laurie
