Team Finland in FIDAE - Chile

In collaboration with Business Finland, three leading Finnish companies - Patria, ICEYE, and ReOrbit - showcased their cutting-edge innovations at the Finnish Pavilion. It was an exceptional opportunity for these companies to engage with officials from the Chilean Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces, gaining valuable insights into the country's defense and security requirements. 🛰️💼

II Annual Meeting with Finnish Companies in Colombia and Finnvera Workshop

At the II Meeting of Finnish Companies, organized by the Finnish Embassy in Bogota and Business Finland, we strengthened collaborative ties among participants and discussed financing options available from Finland. The event featured 50 participants, including PECs, Finnish companies, and Business Finland's Senior Advisors network in Latin America.

FIEG and SEBRAE (Brazil) visit to Finland

In May, a delegation from the Federation of Industries of the State of Goiás (Fieg) and the Brazilian Support Service for the Micro and Small Enterprises ( SEBRAE ) went on a mission to Finland to explore partnerships and business opportunities between Finland and Brazil. The full program included meetings with Ministries, research and innovation centers, educational institutions and Finnish companies.

Visit to Lamor's Kilpilahti Chemical Plastic Recycling Facility

Business Finland and the Embassies of Chile and Peru in Finland visited Lamor 's newest recycling facility during May. This visit provided a platform for fruitful discussions and shared insights on addressing the global plastics problem and other environmental challenges. The event underscored the importance of international collaboration in tackling global environmental challenges.

Team Finland's Visit to the Araucanía Region (Chile)

Team Finland Chile visited Temuco in the Araucanía region, where they had meetings with Governor Luciano Rivas and Mayor Roberto Neira Aburto to explore collaboration opportunities in the fields of education, circular economy, energy, digitalization, and Smart Cities. The Visit also included the co-organization of a seminar to showcase concrete examples of the EU-Chile collaboration in innovation and education.

Visit to Reorbit Headquarters

Business Finland visits the ReOrbit facilities in Helsinki. The delegation included Business Finland representatives from the offices in Brazil, Chile and Mexico. This was a good opportunity to meet Ignacio Chechile , one of the company's founders, and discuss the company's future plans and potential applications for its solutions in Latin America.

Visit to Iceye's Facilities

Business Finland visits ICEYE 's headquarters and satellite assembly line. Business Finland’s delegation included representatives from the offices in Brazil, Chile and Mexico. The delegation met with Damon Olloman , the company's Head of Missions.

The visit served as an opportunity to see the company's state-of-the-art satellite assembly line, discuss expansion plans and learn how the company collaborated with the efforts of local governments during the floods that hit the southern region of Brazil.

Auren Energia Visit to Finland (Brazil)

Auren Energia visits Finland. Auren Energia is the largest renewable electricity generator and trader in Brazil, operating on the free energy market. The company is an innovation pioneer and has investments in relevant startups for e.g. Smart Metering and AI solutions

The goals of the visit included getting acquainted with the Finnish electricity system operations, anticipating market trends in Brazil and connecting with potential Finnish partners.

Business Finland Event — Latin America's Sustainable Future: Mining & Energy

To showcase the sustainability opportunities in Latin America, Business Finland organized an event during WIW2024 to provide updates on the mining and energy sectors.

The event attracted over 50 attendees and featured keynote presentations by Brazilian company Auren Energia and Finnish company Neste . Additionally, a mining panel included representatives from Business Finland , Finnpartnership , and Vaisala , which was followed by a networking session.

Team Finland's Participation in Mining Fair Exponor

Team Finland had a strong presence in Exponor, the largest business event in northern Chile. Exponor presented an opportunity to present Finnish cutting-edge technologies and innovations for the mining and energy industry.

The participation included the following companies: Nordic Hands/ Dynaset , IMA Engineering , Termomin , FSMINING , Fluitek Marco , and Valmet .

Mining Week in Ecuador: Expominas and Team Finland's Mining and Breakfast Seminar

In July, Business Finland, together with Finnpartnership and Mining Finland , organized a Team Finland visit to Quito, Ecuador, to promote sustainable mining practices and technologies. The visit was led by Finnish Ambassador Antti Rytövuori.

During the week, Team Finland held a breakfast mining seminar together with Ecuador's Mining Chamber ( Cámara de Minería del Ecuador ), promoting high-tech and responsible mining. The week continued with Team Finland and Mining Finland hosting a stand at the Expominas 2024 fair, where Metso , Wärtsilä , Vaisala , Lamor , and AFRY showcased their cutting-edge technologies and solutions.
