1) Unlocking Tech Potential in Norfolk and Suffolk - 4 December

UKTN will host a panel discussion at Norwich University of the Arts to discuss its latest report on the Norfolk and Suffolk tech sector. Industry leaders will discuss topics such as:

  • Barriers to growth in the region’s tech industry
  • Strategies for tech founders to secure funding.

2) New tech hackathon for students in Norfolk and Suffolk

Tech Educators, with local business community support, including headline partners Aviva, has announced its first HackEd. This event - 24 to 26 of February 2025 - will be hosted by Norwich University of the Arts and address two broad themes:

  • Space Tech
  • Making The East a Better Place to Live.

Students in Norfolk and Suffolk will solve real world problems linked to those themes using coding and tech. Details here: Hackathon to inspire future tech stars | Tech Educators.

3) Where are the best co-working and hot desking spaces in Norwich?

The Work in Norwich tea, has put in the leg work and done the coffee tastings - and the results are in. They have come up with a list of some of the best places to find not just a desk and a café but a community of like minded entrepreneurs and creators in Norwich. 4) Women's International Networking programme 2025 - now OPEN!

The WIN programme (led by the Department for Business & Trade) brings together inspirational female entrepreneurs from across the UK. It aims to help them access overseas markets, embrace funding opportunities and grow their businesses through exporting masterclasses, including a trade mission to explore a European export market. 5) Will UK Government help resolve Norwich Western Link issue?

Norfolk County Council has asked the UK Government to resolve the dispute over the planned Norwich Western Link road. This essential infrastructure, which could help unlock jobs and housing north of Norwich, while reducing traffic through the city centre, has run into environmental challenges. The council is now urging the Secretaries of State at the Department for Transport and the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs to settle the matter: Norfolk County Council asks government to rule on Norwich Western Link.

6) Agri-TechE releases “Back to the Future” report

This new report draws on insights from more than 70 members of the Agri-TechE community. Contributors include innovative farmers, researchers, tech developers, investors, and business service providers. 7) Startup Coalition calls on UK government to back policy manifesto

The Startup Coalition (formerly Coadec) is a non-profit founded by tech entrepreneurs. It campaigns for better policies in the UK to support the people and companies, particularly tech startups, who are building the UK’s economic future. They have called on the new government to back its July 2024 policy manifesto: The Startup Manifesto — Startup Coalition.

8) Ember Films opens new state-of-the-art studios in Norwich

Award-winning Ember Films has opened its new studios after months of renovation. They include "a full Lighting, Camera, and Art Department, plus cutting-edge Virtual Production and Motion Capture facilities.
