PFAS RELATED CORPORATE NEWS FROM SEC FILINGS DURING THE LAST WEEK

PFAS concerns are having a clear impact even on companies that are not directly manufacturing or using PFAS. Two examples below:

Emera, Inc. warns because PFAS is so ubiquitous in products and the environment it may impact the company's operations. Even though Emera does not directly produce PFAS, upcoming changes in environmental laws and regulations may result in additional costs particularly when it comes to land acquisition.

Rexford Industrial Realty Inc. reports that a sharp increase in regulatory scrutiny of PFAS could cause unanticipated costs and other adverse results for the company and also for its tenants. These actions could also greatly increase potential liability for both.

Lakeland Industries Inc. reports even though the company itself does not use PFAS in the manufacture of firefighter turnout gear, some of their suppliers do in order to meet NFPA safety standards. As a result, the company has been named as a defendant in a number of suits filed firefighters related to PFAS.
