Busy Busy Busy
Busy, Busy, Busy. That is what business owners are. Recently, I completed a series of conferences in February but was busy all the time, and at the end of this month, I’m behind a little, mentally exhausted, and busy, busy, busy.
I was told, you’re a business owner, take a week off. That is correct I own a business and I can take a week off, where does that put me? In a better state of mind, more refreshed and happier. You have to trust your team, and you have to get away from your business in order to make it successful. However, there is a sense of duty. This past weekend, I had a lot of work, I stopped and relaxed. While I can’t take a full week off, I did nothing over the weekend but exercise, be present with my family, and just simply relaxed.
This is needed to improve and to grow. I have already been very productive this morning and working with the team getting all the things done. A fresh mind and body helps.
There are many strategies and ways to fix this. I use an ideal calendar, and that helps during normal weeks, but during excessive weeks and days like this you need a strategy, and you need a team. Build a plan and develop ideas to relax and regenerate in between everything, but also accomplish your tasks. Set realistic goals and develop a plan with your team. You also need to be okay with dropping a few balls occasionally.
Take care of yourself and develop a plan and take care of your team as well.

1yDr. Rodney Mogen D.B.A. This is an important piece! The culture in the United States teaches us from youth that we have to be busy, busy, busy. That you have to work hard in order to get ahead. Yet, no one ever tells us that if we don't take care of ourselves we'll crash. So your words are necessary and timely. I just finished reading an article about autistic burnout. And busy busy busy with no time to rest or decompress, is a really bad formula for autistic individuals.
