CalAIM in Focus – July 2024 Digest

A key element of CalAIM is the 14 Community Supports. Some of them — like housing services and medically tailored meals — have been widely adopted by health plans. But others have gotten off to a slow start. We’re devoting this issue of the digest to early adopters of other Community Supports: nursing facility transitions and diversions; personal care and respite services; and asthma remediation. Each Community Support requires different types of partnerships, and there is a lot to learn from the successes of these early adopters. I hope you find their experiences helpful.

The CalAim can be much help for many of our economically disadvantaged community members although I do believe some providers need to be vetted to ensure they can provide more than just a touch and actually provide assistance.

Understanding Cal AIM is something I still need much assistance with. Hopefully, this Digest will further enlighten me.
