CAN WE TRAVEL WITH OUR HOME?

What if I get better opportunity somewhere? I want to travel yet be at home! These things occupy you mind as you walk into home through the main gate, sitting on the couch and lying down on your bed. The way things are placed and perfect for you makes one think “Who is going to create this experience for me?”.

What is this experience?

For starters our childhood home where we experienced our firsts’; a place to relax after long week but for our parents it’s about their life investment where the family lives and unite.

In a country like India, where we cherish the culture of large families, where the history is centralized around generations. The word ‘House or Bhavan or Gruh’ is inherited from the concept that sense of belonging.

It becomes a ‘Home’ living together, sharing the things, nurturing the relations. In ancient times the thought of transforming stonewalled caves into a home channelized humans to paint stories in the caves. Even Historical Monuments we learn or visit was someone's home or built in a manner to leave a memory of the people who lived there. This structure kept people connected and created a legacy to pass on.

Across generations humans followed a near-similar pattern to earn a livelihood after certain stage of life and create a legacy for the next generation. It's this thought of having something 'to go back to' that definitely soothes us; of memories and values bundled into the structure.

Whenever we are puzzled in this life game; we go home. Everything feels so right and simple there; the vitality resonating through the walls. Everyone has different memories and thoughts but there is one point of concurrence where everyone’s thoughts are aligned;

‘Experience of staying at home’ - no one can buy or replace it

Fast-forward to today; the life is on a wheel; jobs are demanding with long commutes and the emotions are becoming temporary. We are living in the age where the surrounding is filled with PGs, co-living, nomadic jobs, frequent long travel etc. so the thought of having a home and filling it with memories is fading.

Who is going to take the risk of settling down?

In future; can we travel with our home.
