Candace Woodson overcomes adversity and tops UK Soul Charts

Candace Woodson is an award-winning, chart-topping international recording artist, and single-mother from Paducah, Kentucky with an inspiring story.

Woodson's situation and dreams of becoming a singer changed dramatically after divorce. She became a single mother with two children under the age of 15. Woodson didn't want her children to suffer, so she held off on her dream of becoming a singer and ensured that her children were properly raised and enjoyed a good education. During this time, she also overcame cancer.

But, despite these challenges, she went on to help her children earn scholarships for their education with her eldest earning a four-year division I tennis scholarship to Eastern Illinois University and on faith brought her youngest to Tennis One Academy to train.

Herald as the Queen of Sophisticated Soul and a top-singer in high school, Woodson went on to become Tennessee State University's first-graduate of commercial music.

She even landed auditions at The Voice and America's Got Talent, but unfortunately was not selected.

Nonetheless, she did not allow these adversities to keep her from pursuing her dreams and today has earned the #1 position on the UK Soul Charts and has been on the charts for seven consecutive weeks.

She also was honored by the city of Paducah Kentucky as the Dutchess of Paducah. In 2019, she was the Indie Soul Grammy award-winner, Bright Star Awards “Best International Artist”, and Billboard’s Smooth Jazz Most Added.

"I just want people to know that they can overcome adversity and that there's a silver lining at the end of every challenge. I was told I was too old, I couldn't find a sponsorship and yet I've been able to still overcome these challenges and enjoy success throughout my career," Woodson stated.

Michael Powell, the record producer for Anita Baker, gave Midas Touch high praises stating that "I enjoyed working with her and the album is going to be great!". The Father of Disco, Tom Moulton, the creator of songs such as Love Train and Darlin' Darlin Baby by the O' Jays stated "I love the production!". Preston Glass who's worked with the likes of Whitney Houston says "“Hot Stuff man… Right from the jump, this groove gets you STARTED – the bass line and horns gets you DEEPLY INVOLVED – and that hook KEEPS you moving. Great stuff!” regarding the single Midas Touch (Ooh Ooh). BK Kirkland from the Groove Sirius 50 stated "its a strong song with great production!". And award-winning presenter and producer John Leech from BBC's Essex radio in the UK stated "Midas Touch [is] one of the best songs of '21!".
