The Capsule Podcast

The Capsule Podcast

A year ago I reached out to a contact of mine on LinkedIn with an idea that had been brewing a while. I had forgotten I messaged her, but it was obviously a good idea, because when I went to send the same message a whole year later, I realised I had sent the same one last August.

What is this idea?

The Capsule Podcast.

Before we dive into the details, let me share a little background.

We work with clients who want to get more leads on LinkedIn. Plain and simple. They don't have the time or energy to spend crating the content that will drive this forward. So they work with us.

About a year ago, I started persuading my clients to get on video.

Now, 90% of our clients share regular video posts on LinkedIn.

For companies or coach/consultants who aren't ready to invest in monthly retainer packages with us, we have the Video Visibility Package. Consider it a trial run. The Video Visibility Package takes less than two hours of your time, and results in 12 weeks of video content to post on LinkedIn. Find out more about that here.

Here's what you get:

  • 12 LinkedIn Ready Video
  • Ideas for each video
  • Prompts and support for your video
  • One Time Recording
  • Video Editing
  • Video Captions
  • LinkedIn Posts written for each video

This convenient one-and-done package is so popular that I started to revisit an idea I had about podcasting with our clients.

We are not a full service Podcasting Agency (yet). But I have been podcasting for five years and understand the power of podcasting. When someone listens to you in their ears while out walking, at the gym or driving the car, you make a real connection with them.

I love the COPE strategy we have developed with our clients - Create Once, Publish Everywhere, and the Capsule Podcast is the perfect project to deliver that strategy.

So what is a Capsule Podcast?

It is a short fully encapsulated series of podcast episodes that stand alone.

Six or eight episodes long focusing on one specific area.

How does it work?

We work together on outlining each episode.

I record it with you. I set up all the software and all you need to do is work on what you are going to say, and invest in a microphone and some good lighting. In the first capsule podcast we recorded with a client, I am part of the podcast team - both in the podcast and behind the scenes.

We use the video podcast too.

YouTube have started to take a lot of notice of video podcasts. I was invited recently to participate in a trial with YouTube podcasts. Trust me on this.

Podcasting on YouTube. YouTube is one of the most popular platforms for podcasts, with a vast global audience of over 2 billion active users. Podcasts on YouTube help creators expand their reach and build their community while providing monetization opportunities

Last month I wrote about what you can do with one key piece of content per month here ⬇️

Why does it work?

You may not be ready to launch a full weekly podcast. Like with the video visibility package, this allows you to test the waters.

And like with the video visibility package, I am here to hold your hand and take all the techie stuff out of your hands.

The best part of this is, once you have recorded the podcast, we take care of everything else.

Here's what can come out of the capsule podcast for each episode:

  • Audio Podcast Episode
  • Video Podcast Episode for YouTube
  • Both of these can be embedded into your website AND your LinkedIn newsletter (remember, create once, publish everywhere)
  • Short video clips for social media and YouTube shorts
  • Quotes for images and graphics
  • Transcript turns into a blog post.
  • Blog post can be tweaked and turned into your LinkedIn Newsletter
  • Republish your LinkedIn newsletter to your email list
  • Social media posts
  • Summarise the key content and create a downloadable PDF to send to clients or use as a lead magnet

Of course you can take this idea and do it yourself. I have already had inquiries about what way we are running this (not from potential clients, but from DIY folks and other agencies - another reason I am writing this today - to answer those questions and share the idea).

Now that I have it down here, I need to go write a sales page.

Yes! We are finishing up the final edits of our capsule podcast this week. You gave me the idea some time ago and we’ve gone and done it! Should be able to launch it soon. Thanks for the tips on how to repurpose the content. You are a star! ❤️
