Career Progression

Introduction

A career is a long journey, and it's important to keep yourself sharp throughout the whole ride. You'll need to always be learning new skills and building your reputation so that when people ask for your help or have questions about their business, they can turn to you. Plus, if you're always working on improving yourself as an individual and an employee, then employers will see this too!

Always be the best at what you do!

One of the most important things you can do to improve your career growth is to always be the best at what you do. This means being a lifelong learner, open to feedback and criticism, and able to work with others.

You also need to be able to take criticism well—and give good advice in return! And if something doesn’t go right? Get over it—learn from your mistakes so that they don't happen again!

Be comfortable with change: there will always be new opportunities coming up; if someone else offers them instead of yours (or even better), then accept those jobs as well since they're likely going somewhere great for both parties involved.

Put your heart into it!

  • Put your heart into it!
  • Be passionate about what you do. You will be happier and more productive if you truly enjoy what you do. If there's a job in which you can make a difference, find one that suits your interests and put your energy into it!
  • Don't be afraid to share your ideas with others—it's important for everyone on the team to understand how things work together so they can work better together as well.
  • Make sure that everyone understands where their responsibilities lie within the organization before starting any new projects or initiatives; this will help ensure smooth sailing from start-to-finish (or at least until someone else comes along).

It's not personal, it's business.

It's not personal, it's business.

This is a common refrain in the workplace, and it’s one that you should keep in mind when you're working with someone. When someone does something that makes you feel uncomfortable or angry, don't take it personally—it's just their job! If they were being rude or disrespectful on purpose (and there are many ways to do this), then having a conversation with them about how they can improve their behavior will likely lead nowhere positive. If they aren't being rude and disrespectful on purpose, but are just doing what they think is best for their company/organization/team... well then maybe having a conversation about the situation would work out better than confronting them directly?

Get your name out there!

  • Focus on your strengths.
  • Make sure you are in the right place at the right time.
  • Don't be afraid to ask for help, or make mistakes.

You always have to be sharpening your skills and working on your reputation.

You’re always going to have to be sharpening your skills and working on your reputation. You need to be the best at what you do. It’s not about being friends with people or networking; it’s about making good decisions based on experience, knowledge and expertise.

Put your heart into it! If you don't love what you're doing then no one else will either. It's important that we remember this when we're looking at our careers because it can be easy for us as individuals (or even companies) forget who they are ultimately working for: their customers or clients—and not just themselves as individuals; but also their families and communities who benefit from what we do every day."

Conclusion

The key to career growth is building a solid foundation from which you can continue to grow and succeed. You can do that by actively seeking out opportunities for professional development, building relationships with mentors and peers, and making sure you have access to the resources needed in order to be successful at work.
