Cartier Women’s Initiative & Empow’Her : Highlighting Women Who Move the Line in Francophone Sub-Saharan Africa

Since 2006, Cartier Women's Initiative has been supporting and rewarding women impact entrepreneurs to help them grow their businesses and strengthen their leadership. By providing human, social and financial capital, Cartier Women's Initiative fosters social and environmental change by giving the women it supports the keys to developing their businesses.

Three prizewinners in each of the program's 11 categories will receive financial support ranging from $30,000 to $100,000! In addition, they will follow a support program consisting of group workshops and training courses, and will be integrated into a community of over 500 experts worldwide!

The call for applications is open from May 10 to June 30, 2023. Visit the Cartier Women's Initiative website for full details and to apply.

1 - The main selection criteria

Cartier Women's Initiative rewards impact entrepreneurs whose projects have already been launched and whose impact has been proven. Among the main eligibility criteria, we are looking for entrepreneurs who meet the following criteria:

  • A business with the capacity to generate profits (associations and NGOs are not eligible for the call for applications, but they can be hybrid structures);
  • Formalized businesses, with between 1 and 6 years of activity;
  • The applicant must be one of the founders of the project, and have a sufficient level of English to follow the program.

2 - Empow'Her's role

Cartier has asked Empow'Her to help identify female entrepreneurs for the French-speaking Sub-Saharan Africa region. We put our expertise at the service of future candidates to accompany them and give them every chance of becoming laureates and joining the Cartier Women's Initiative Fellows community, and to this end offer free 2-hour coaching sessions for candidate entrepreneurs.
