Causes of Excessive Oil Consumption (Burning Oil)
Damaged engine seals and oil seals will cause leakage of lubricating oil. Once the leak occurs, it can be observed outside the engine. Blue smoke from the exhaust pipe means that the lubricating oil enters the combustion chamber and is burned. Lubricating oil can enter the combustion chamber in the following ways.
a. There is wear between the guide tube and the valve stem, and the gap is too large. During the intake stroke, the lubricating oil droplets in the valve cover will enter the combustion chamber along the gap. If this failure occurs or the valve guide hole diameter is enlarged, it should be optional intake valve with larger valve stem.
b. The valve oil retaining ring fails and cannot effectively prevent the oil from entering the combustion chamber through the valve.
c. The wear of the piston ring and the cylinder wall is too large, and the oil scraping effect of the oil ring is weakened, so that the oil enters the combustion chamber.
d. The crankcase ventilation valve is stuck and cannot move, and loses its function of controlling the ventilation volume. Excessive lubricating oil vapor in the crankcase enters the intake pipe through the crankcase ventilation pipe.
Modern cars, no matter what type of engine have a perfect exhaust gas circulation system. Be sure to pay attention to regular inspection and cleaning during use and maintenance, otherwise, once blocked, it will cause waste oil, blow-by and other faults.
In the event of excessive oil consumption, it is necessary to start with the maintenance of engine components, and blind replacement of oil is not effective.

2yThere are two more reasons for excessive oil consumption: 1) In turbocharged engines, the turbocharger itself can leak along the shaft from the (high pressure) turbine side to the (low pressure) compressor side..... 2) The most embarrassing reason: The second ring was fitted upside down, so it does not transport oil back in the oil sump but upwards into the combustion chamber.....You should have an intensive talk to the workshop....smile...
