Tell us about your role in SoftwareOne

Current Role is a Senior Trainer in the Global Sales Enablement Team, focusing on upskilling resources globally for operational excellence. Prior to this, I’ve had a number of various roles here:

2011: Started as a Global Procurement Manager with SoftwareOne, part of a newly developed Delivery center in India.

2013: Worked with SoftwareOne India subsidiary as a Procurement Manager, gaining deeper insights into procurement processes.

2018: Cleared an Internal Job Posting (IJP) to contribute to setting up the Mexican Delivery Center.

2020: Joined the Digital Supply Chain (DSC) during the pandemic.

2021: Transitioned to the Indian Delivery Center training department.

What are some of your career highlights?

President Club 2015 – I am immensely proud to have received the President’s Club 2015 award. This recognition stands as the pinnacle of my accomplishments at SoftwareOne.

In 2015, while contributing to the India Subsidiary, I had the privilege of receiving the Genie Award as well. This award reflects not only individual achievement but also the collaborative spirit that defines our team.

My commitment to supporting colleagues at the GSDC Mexico did not go unnoticed. Being recognized for my assistance in 2019 underscores the importance of teamwork and mutual growth.

How do you carve out time for your hobbies or personal passions amidst your work and family obligations? Have these pursuits positively influenced your overall well-being and contributed to your success in your professional endeavors?

Work-Life Balance and Family Time - Weekends and off days are sacred to me. I cherish these moments with my family, as they provide a much-needed break from work.

Cooking is my creative outlet. I find joy in experimenting with flavours, textures, and cuisines. Preparing meals that bring smiles to my friends and family’s faces is incredibly rewarding. It’s like sharing love through food.

Additionally, coloring serves as my therapeutic escape. The simple act of filling blank spaces with vibrant hues calms my mind. When I immerse myself in coloring, I find clarity and focus. This mental reset enables me to contribute more effectively to my professional endeavors.

These passions—cooking and coloring—nourish my soul, allowing me to approach work with renewed energy and creativity. Balancing family time, hobbies, and work isn’t always easy, but it’s essential for overall well-being.

Company Support – Work & Life

How has your SoftwareOne provided support and empowerment in your role as a parent?

SoftwareOne recognizes the demands of parenting and offers flexible work arrangements without compromising professional growth. This flexibility was invaluable during my 3 months maternity leave when I was blessed with my second child in 2014.

How has SoftwareOne embedded an inclusive culture that acknowledges and supports the needs of working parents?

Flexible work hours, remote work options, and supportive leaders with whom we can openly discuss issues and seek guidance (and are encouraged to do so) without feeling apologetic about their dual roles as employees and parents.

How can we empower young women and girls to pursue careers in STEM and other fields where they are traditionally underrepresented?

Encourage girls to explore STEM subjects from an early age. Provide exposure through interactive workshops, science clubs, and hands-on experiments.

Highlight successful women in STEM as role models. Their stories inspire and show that these fields are accessible to everyone.

Collaborate with companies and research institutions. Internships and exposure to industry settings enhance practical skills.

Support work-life balance for women in STEM. Flexible hours, parental leave, and remote work options are crucial.

Absolutely love this initiative! 🌟 As we dive into the stories of these inspiring women, it reminds me of a recent Forbes piece where a thought leader said - Success is not just about where you're going, but who you bring along. Let's keep championing diversity and uplifting each other! 💪 #Empowerment #DiversityInTech
