This International Women's Day the global theme is "Choose to Challenge" as a challenged world is an alert world and from challenge comes change. Working in the Information Technology (IT) industry we are celebrating digital advancement and working to champion the women forging innovation through technology, implementing organisational change through leadership and building and managing companies around the world. I am especially keen to support and promote our emerging leaders, ladies in action today who excite us everyday in all walks of life and acknowledge those women who passed us their legacy to grow and inspire us to build a better world !
In accord with Justine Robbins challenge for #IWD "to advocate for all people and bring awareness, celebrate and champion women." To cheer them on as they positively change the world I invite you to find someone who inspires you, whose bravery you admire and tell them publicly or privately. Let them know the difference they have made in your life...
Today it's time to say I am inspired by... The First Lady of the United States, Dr. Jill Biden who I have met and has always cared about reading and education as she continues teaching and her career. For decades she has been using her voice to also promote women's health as founder of the Biden Breast Health initiative to educate high school girls about the prevention and the importance of early detection of breast cancer. Jill you are an inspiration by demonstrating a culture where women's careers can thrive. Today she will recognise the courageous accomplishments of a group of extraordinary women from around the world at the 2021 International Women of Courage Awards.
Today it's time celebrate women's achievements... and thank those ladies that have inspired me to be my best self, have shared their life experiences to help me learn and grow and to cheer them on ! It is important to acknowledge the importance of your contributions to our society and we value you. Our industry, be it transport, construction or whatever is made all the stronger and more balanced and informed by diversity and more great women in our sectors is just what we need. FYI...recruiting for a UGL Regional Linx team in Orange NSW and am keen to adjust the gender balance in rail!!
