Celebrating our colleagues, family members and loved ones this Pride Month

The Australian LGBTQ+ activist Anthony Venn-Brown once said, “The richness, beauty and depths of love can only be fully experienced in a climate of complete openness, honesty and vulnerability.” The world can be a troubling place at times, and expressions of love are often what keep us going when faced with adversity and dismay. In both giving and receiving, love has the power to heal, to comfort and to create joy.

Until the relatively recent past, #LGBTQ+ individuals and couples were prevented by law and by cultural norms from fully and openly expressing their emotions. #PrideMonth is an opportunity to celebrate the progress that’s been made toward a more welcoming and inclusive society. It’s also a time to acknowledge that the long journey to equality – through legislation and in our own hearts and minds – is ongoing.

We’re focused on fostering and strengthening an environment at UBS in which all of us are empowered to show up as our authentic selves. We understand that for many, being visible and vocal about who we love is a core part of our identities. So together, we stand beside our colleagues, family members and loved ones this Pride Month as we explore the LGBTQ+ community’s histories, stories and achievements.

Happy Pride Month!
