Change Management
In order for organizations to stay competitive and create the difference and advantage they need to change John Lilly said “Our only security is our ability to change.”
For example, Covid 19 and other environment external factors made many organizations change the way they run the business by learning and implementing new ways of work. John Kennedy said “Change is the law of life and those who look only to the past or present are certain to miss the future.”
‘’ change only succeeds when there is a clear vision’’ Have et al 2017. There are many factors effect in having successful change like for example clear vision, Kotter said “If you cannot describe your vision to someone in five minutes and get their interest, you have more work to do in this phase of a transformation process.”
Such vision should be explained in a convincing way to all the employees who are involved in this change in order for them to know why they should do this and understand the value of this change because believing in the vision is one of the most important factor in making change successful.
A strong leadership to lead the change on different levels of the organization in different business units or departments, the leadership is required to allow open discussion dialogue and to be very supportive John P. Kotter said “Major change is often said to be impossible unless the head of the organization is an active supporter.”
This can be done through mainly 3 steps in an organization:
· Create a proper climate for change
· Engaging and enabling the organization for change.
· Implementing & sustaining for change.
There are different change management frameworks to be followed and here I would like to recommend Mckinsey 7s model.
