Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes: A Journey of Faith, Family, and Purpose
Over the last few months, I’ve found myself reflecting deeply on the journey that has brought me to this point in my life. Forty-four years of living, learning, failing, and growing have provided me with a unique perspective—one I hadn’t fully appreciated until recently. Life has a way of moving us through stages, each with its own lessons, struggles, and blessings. While I suppose this is normal for most people, the realization struck me in a profound and eye-opening way.
This clarity came in part because of Jimmy Buffett’s classic song Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes. The lyrics resonated with me like never before, serving as a soundtrack to my reflections. It’s a simple but powerful reminder that life’s seasons bring inevitable change, and how we respond to those changes—our attitude—makes all the difference. For me, this reflection has brought into focus the beautiful convergence of faith, family, and purpose that defines where I am today.
Faith as the Anchor
Looking back, I see one constant thread running through every stage of my journey: my faith. Through the highs and lows, the triumphs and heartbreaks, God has been there, guiding my steps and holding me steady. I wouldn’t be where I am today without His grace. The challenges I’ve faced weren’t just obstacles; they were opportunities to lean on Him, to trust His plan, and to grow into the person He has called me to be.
As I reflect, I’m reminded of Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
This verse has carried me through so much, and today, it feels more relevant than ever.
Stronger Relationships, Deeper Joy
One of the most beautiful gifts of this season is the strength of my relationships with my wife and kids. I’ve learned that prioritizing what truly matters—faith, family, and time together—has brought a level of peace and joy I didn’t realize I was missing. I’ve always believed in the importance of leading my family with love and intentionality, but now I see just how much that leadership has transformed us all.
We laugh more, we share more, and we grow together. That’s not to say we’ve achieved perfection—far from it. But by keeping God at the center of our home, we’ve found strength in Him and in each other.

Professional Fulfillment Like Never Before
Starting my own company has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. For the first time in a long time, I feel completely aligned with my purpose. Every step, every risk, every late-night brainstorming session feels worth it because I know I’m building something that reflects who I truly am.
It’s a strange and wonderful feeling to say that professionally, I’ve never been happier. Walking away from a toxic environment and stepping into a future that I can shape has been liberating. I feel God’s hand in every decision, opening doors I never imagined and showing me that when you trust Him, the possibilities are endless.
A World of Possibilities
As I write this, I feel nothing but gratitude. I am grateful for the journey that has brought me here, for the lessons learned along the way, and for the opportunities that lie ahead. My faith has remained strong, and I know that God is not done with me yet.
I believe we all go through stages in life, and each one is part of a greater plan. The key is to embrace the changes with faith and trust that God is leading you exactly where you need to be. My journey isn’t over—far from it—but I’m excited for what’s to come.
To anyone reading this who feels stuck, uncertain, or weighed down by life’s challenges: take heart. Lean into your faith, surround yourself with the people who matter most, and trust that God has a plan for you. Sometimes, all it takes is a change in latitude—and a change in attitude—to see the possibilities He has waiting for you.
Here’s to the journey.
