The Changing Landscape for Civic Activism in the Climate Crisis
Climate change has skyrocketed to the top of many countries’ security concerns as its impacts become more salient and visible. But these concerns transcend those of national governments. The issue of climate change has deep importance in the civic space as everyday people begin to witness their changing environment. But this activism looks different between countries such as Türkiye and the United States and regions from East Asia to the Middle East.
To shed light on civic engagement on climate change and how the fight for climate action connects with democracy, Carnegie launched a 14-chapter compilation edited by Erin Jones & Richard Youngs which brings together scholars from around the world.
