Check out these STL AEC Events - especially Mine!
Salut mes amis! Familiar French saying for my friends and followers coming off the recent Summer Olympics in Paris! Can we remark how glorious those games were - ceremonies and all! Plus the fact we get to welcome the world for 2028! Fun Fact - St. Louis actually hosted the Olympics back in 1904 - the very same year as the World's Fair! ONLY time in history that has (and will) ever happen! #314 has it going on - don't let anyone fool you!
Speaking of "the spotlight", my latest issue needs to be devoted towards two very special events coming up soon! One of the greatest benefits as now Business Development Executive for Built Solutions is the opportunity to create and collaborate deep in the greater #architecture and #design community!
Both FREE to attend - Come READY to learn, mingle, and make out with more information than you arrived with! I'm eternally grateful to all who are actively involved with both events. Months of planning go into what will be unforgettable events - both open to all, but notably geared to the people of AEC in the Greater STL region (including the Metro East and greater STL County! Try to pick me out of the crowd - you know you want to!
Missouri doesn't just stop on the Mississippi River in St. Louis. Another notable Zip Code is #816...not just for Mahomes Mayhem! The Architecture community in Kansas City is palpable, on the pulse for its own trends and loyal followings amongst allied groups and organizations! MetroWire Media is established out of Kansas City by Lisa J. Shackelford, CPSM ! Lisa and I did our second selfie at their second STL event "STL Women in CRE" in early August, held at Jacobs 's stellar new office!
Swear to goodness - my favorite view of Highway Farty. Beats driving on it during Rush Hour!
After savoring the views of Forest Park, taking in the insightful commentary of all panelists was eye-opening. Few points brought up transcended gender roles - Lisa Moehle mentioned work-life balance like juggling glass spheres, hoping one doesn't break (especially if they are varying sizes)! That resonated with me as equally fulfilling personal and professional lives are hard to obtain and maintain! Especially fresh in this role, that's key advice for anyone who dreams of having it all! We can - but let's remember we still ALL do even on a day off!
While visiting the other side of MO later in August, I went by NOMAKC 's "Summer Cookout"! The BBQ, brews, and tunes were ON POINT. Built has been a long time supporter and sponsor of NOMAKC! Recently, I'm proud to share Built is also supporting the local St. Louis NOMA Chapter! Hosting NOMA members in our showroom is just tip-of-the-iceberg to contributing towards their initiatives for a more inclusive environment targeted towards minority groups in architecture! Allys are welcome - come one and all! Stay tuned for their next "Project Pipeline" outreach, held at Washington University in St. Louis !
Well, there are other events scheduled for the next month...I suppose I can share them. As a reminder, this is just a snippet! The AEC Community is HOT this summer!!

Promise of being involved with this community is the FUN that goes along with it! Some of these photos from prior events [including the AIA St. Louis / Saint Louis ASLA "Top Golf" Social, to a day trip in the City of Springfield Illinois (Shout out to Springfield Illinois Convention & Visitors Bureau ), and the IFMA St. Louis Chapter Member Social (where the lights LITERALLY went off)], show why its important to stay engaged with your peers! It's about learning - more important from each other!
Stay on the pulse of your career/network! Don't miss a beat whether in the office or out on PTO - I'll return with a new issue in fall!
