Choose Your Obsessions
In my youth, I was obsessed with the wrong things.
I wasted my time drinking, smoking, and goofing off. I knew I couldn’t change my obsessive personality… That's how I’m wired!
But I could change the focus of my obsession. Instead of chasing a high or a good time, I turned my focus in a positive direction. I became obsessed with success.
I threw myself into my job as a salesman. I came in early and left late. I listened obsessively to tapes on self-improvement and selling techniques. I did everything I could to move away from my past. I channeled all my energy, drive, and time toward positive goals.
Soon, my efforts started to pay off.
This single decision to choose a positive target for my obsessive nature was the catalyst being my future successes. Everything, from my businesses to my real estate portfolio to my live events and even my relationships... They are the result of my single-minded determination and drive to keep going until I reached my goal.
Just as a drug addict is fixated on the next high, I fixated on staying clean, increasing my skills, and building my business.
You can do the same.
Warning! People Will Criticize You
But I do need to warn you. When you go all-in on your goals, you will attract criticism and outright hostility.
Start to get in shape, and people will suddenly become “worried” that you’re working out too much or not eating enough.
Start devoting more time to your business, and people will suddenly become “worried” that you’re working too hard. People will come out of the woodwork with all sorts of warnings about what you’re doing.
When I made my mindset shift and began directing my energies to work and success, people around me did not like it. Early on, coworkers told me that I was working too hard.
When I launched my sales training business, people told me I was on the road too much and I’d burn out.
When I started investing in real estate, people told me I’d hate being a landlord and dealing with high-maintenance tenants.
When I pursued my future wife, Elena, people told me I was acting like a stalker and was going to scare her off.
When I committed to holding the 10X Growth Conference in Marlins Stadium on Super Bowl weekend, people told me I would lose my shirt.
When I decided to go on Undercover Billionaire and build a million-dollar business in 90 days, people told me it couldn’t be done. They said I would embarrass myself.
On and on it goes…

There’s an endless line of naysayers, haters, and critics intent on telling me what’s wrong and how I should live my life.
But here’s the really interesting thing: The criticism never comes from people doing more than I am. It only comes from those doing less.
That’s because your 10X Goals and 10X Action make them nervous. It makes them take a look at their own life and see where they’re playing small. It makes them see where they are settling for average or not living up to their own potential.
Choose Your Obsessions
You must choose your obsessions if you are committed to extraordinary success in your business and your life.
Get used to criticism from those who would rather spend their time commenting on your behavior than doing something about their own life.
No one who has achieved extraordinary levels of success gets there without obsessive attention to their goals. The top achievers aren’t just concerned with their performance, they’re obsessed with it. They aren’t just laser-focused on the outcome they desire. They are also relentless in their pursuit.
They consistently set 10X Goals and follow them up with 10X Action.
That’s how they achieve extraordinary success.
And when you are ready to achieve extraordinary success, I have something for you…
I’m inviting you to join me LIVE for 3 days at the 10X Business Boot Camp Interactive where you and I work together to build your Extraordinary Success Plan.
Many past attendees have told us that the 10X Business Boot Camp Interactive is our best event of the year.
That’s because I give more personal access at this boot camp than anywhere else.
This is 100% virtual and 100% interactive.
Go here now and reserve your seat for this live, interactive, one-time event.
Be Great!
