"Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law...that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith."

His highest praise, the secret of his strength for obedience, and what made him so pleasing to God was that he believed God...We too receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

Faith is the spiritual sense by which a person recognizes and accepts the revelation of God and a spiritual consciousness awakened by that revelation... The more distinct the revelation, the deeper faith is stirred in the soul...

Faith is not an independent act by which, in our own strength, we take what God says...it is the receptivity of soul in which as God draws near and as His living power speaks to us and touches us, we yield ourselves to Him and accept His word and working in us.

Faith deals with two things: the presence of the Lord and the word of the Lord. We receive the promise of the Spirit by faith. "According to your faith let it be to you."

It is faith in God that opens our heart and prepares us to submit to Him and to receive His divine work in us. God waits on us to fill us with His Spirit. We need a heart of faith in the living God and in faith to abide in Him, wait on Him, and worship Him.

The Holy Spirit and His guidance and inspiration belong to those who ask. Such faith will not be without trials. We must learn that a living faith rejoices in a living God even when feelings contradict.

As we wait in humble worship and walk in loving service before the throne, the river of the water of life that flows under it will flow into us, and through us, and out to others. - A. Murray
