Class Actions & Investor Litigation: A Guide for Pension Funds
It was my pleasure to edit another IPE Class Actions & Investor Litigation supplement, which recently landed on our readers' desks. This guide for pension funds is timely given the growing need to demonstrate good governance on behalf of their members and the broader economy.
In my introduction Getting the priorities right in pursuit of better corporate behaviour I set the scene in a much changed environment in which greater investor activism and a wave of recent financial scandals has encouraged many European pension funds to become more active. We look at the opt out/opt in question, the role of the lead plaintiff, litigation funding and the position of passive investors. We also look at what specific investors have done in this space and why.
