The University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria seeks a research faculty member at Clinical Associate rank. This individual will be part of Research Services. Required Master’s Degree in clinical research, public health or related field with a strong background in research. Required experience in working with data sets of different types and sizes, including managing the integrity of these data sets. Experience in human subjects research regulations and submitting protocols to an IRB is required. Strong attention to detail, experience with internal and external audits, and working knowledge of compliance preferred. Preference for candidate with history of working with REDCap or other research databases and experience with programming (e.g., SAS, R).

Applicants must have a Master’s, possess and apply comprehensive knowledge of research principles, ethics, practices and methods, and a minimum of 2 years related research experience is preferred.

Position Summary

Work with investigators on different studies to ensure data integrity. This will include producing reports, conducting data audits, and working with the study team to reconcile errors.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Report to the Director of Research Services & Director of the Office of Human Research Oversight.
  • Work with investigators on different studies to ensure data integrity. This will include producing reports, conducting data audits, and working with the study team to reconcile errors.
  • Manage data and de-identify as appropriate for different types of storage (archival, publically accessible, etc.).
  • Assist research personnel in submission of accurate and completed IRB materials into the IRB electronic submission system.
  • Utilize the IRB electronic submission system to manage IRB projects, compose correspondence to investigators, and create a portion of IRB agendas and minutes by entering appropriate submission text in IRB electronic system.
  • Perform preliminary reviews of confidential incoming IRB materials pertaining to studies to determine adequacy or acceptability of the information provided and identify level of review of submitted materials (full board; expedited review; etc.)
  • Conduct research collaboratively with other faculty members of the College of Medicine.
  • Support and develop the research and scholarly activities of Research Services and the Center 4 Health Research.
  • Serve on appropriate educational committees at the College of Medicine.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Research Services and the Director of the Office of Human Research Oversight.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Required Master’s degree in clinical research, public health, or related field.
  • Required minimum of one year experience working with datasets and databases (e.g., REDCap) and data management.
  • Required experience working with IRB protocols/human subjects research.
  • Required excellent attention to detail.
  • Required ability to manage research projects and staff.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years related research experience preferred.
