Cloudy outlook for clean jobs | Casinos in malls | Schizophrenia drug OK
Welcome to the BBJ's LinkedIn Weekly Edition! It's National Climate Week, and this is Digital Editor Jess Aloe * bringing you a look at the outlook for clean energy jobs in Massachusetts as well as the week's biggest business news.
Cloudy outlook for clean energy jobs
The clean energy sector stands to be a robust source of white- and blue-collar jobs in Massachusetts in the coming decade. But the pace of that job growth could depend a lot on what happens on a single day in November.
The 2024 election offers a stark choice on clean energy. Former President Donald Trump wants to block offshore wind projects on his first day in office and roll back parts of the Inflation Reduction Act, or IRA, the 2022 law meant to generate hundreds of billions of dollars in investment for clean energy. Vice President Kamala Harris is seeking to continue the Biden administration’s push to decarbonize the economy.
This week’s cover story was written by Greg Ryan and includes a breakdown of what's at stake this election for the Bay State's green economy.
