Coffee & Connectivity – A Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) Case Study

Challenge:

A national coffee chain with more than 300 locations encountered major delays in store openings due to reliance on traditional wireline infrastructure. These setbacks hindered essential operations, adversely affecting customer experience, operational efficiency, and overall profitability.

Solution:

Hyperion partnered with T-Mobile For Business to harness the power of America’s largest and fastest 5G network. By deploying Cradlepoint, part of Ericsson E300 and W1850 routers at a reduced cost, thanks to Hyperion’s strategic partnership with Cradlepoint, each installation was customized for its specific location. Structural barriers and carrier signal strength were carefully assessed to optimize the placement of routers and antennas. To further enhance reliability, Hyperion implemented a robust secondary failover solution, ensuring uninterrupted service during outages. Local testing and Cradlepoint’s NetCloud Manager were used to fine-tune speed and coverage, maximizing performance at each site.

Impact:

The Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) solution, powered by T-Mobile’s 5G network, significantly accelerated store deployment and improved connection reliability across all 300+ locations. This cost-effective approach reduced operational costs while allowing the company to maintain critical operations without delays. The failover solution eliminated network downtime concerns, resulting in higher productivity, enhanced customer satisfaction, and notable profitability gains.
