Coinbase Wallet Delisting

Coinbase just announced an interesting move, with the Coinbase Wallet ending support for Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum Classic, and Ripple’s XRP and Stellar’s XLM. They said the reason is “low usage”, but XRP is still the 7th largest cryptocurrency by market cap. 

Coinbase just filed amicus curiae briefs in support of Ripple in its legal battle with the SEC, it’s surprising that they would remove XRP. Maybe it really is just “low usage”: XRP holders know that Coinbase delisted the asset a long time ago, so it’s possible they aren’t holding their assets on Coinbase Wallet. 

Whatever the reason, the assets will no longer be supported as of December 5th. Users with balances in the wallet can still recover assets after that date with their seed phrase.
